I want the pusher humiliated in front of his home crowd. I want the entirety of Britain laughing at his pathetic attempts to play tennis. I want his family, friends, acquaintances, and colleagues all watching him get demolished. I want this to be a day of unfiltered embarrassment and pain for Norrie.

Don’t mess around Carlos. Destroy this mug. Make him regret even showing up. Ferrero better deliver.

A 64 64 64 would do as well

Cannot see how Norrie can really hurt Carlos in anyway.

Even if Cameron plays great best he .might do is snick a set bit that is all.

This should be a straight sets victory for Carlos, but as we've seen, he's capable of losing some sets, so who knows? He hasn't exactly been in his best form, but he's delivered good tennis when he needed to. He should beat Norrie, and Fritz too after that.

(Fritz could be the first real test, but he's played a lot recently, and Alcaraz leads the h2h 2-0. If things do get close, I expect Carlos to come out on top.)

Why so much hostility towards Norrie

C'mon, stop temporizing and tell us what you really think, Kral.

;)

I’m often a worry wort with Alcaraz lately but I think he should get through this one in straights. Norrie just doesn’t have the game to take it to Raz, to take his time away and rush him in rallies, which is when he tends to start spewing errors trying to be too proactive. Plus Norrie had what was probably a rather physically and mentally draining match today, where he almost let a two-set lead slip.

Their head to head is kind of strange, though: There was a year and a half (from US Open 2021 to Buenos Aires 2023) where they met six times and in the 2+ years since they haven’t met at all. Alcaraz is a better player now than he was for most of their prior meetings.

Never really understood why Alcaraz struggles so much with Norrie's game. Except for USO2021, all their matches were very close.
Even the IW one in 2022 (6-4 6-3 for Alcaraz) was a tough battle (many many breaks and ups&downs from both.)
Cincinnati 2022 lasted 3h15 and ended around 2 am. Norrie beat him right before Alcaraz won the USO.
For the Rio final, Alcaraz got injured at the very end of the 2nd set. Match was very close either way before the injury appeared...
He must have sth in his game that troubles him... Ironically I'm sure Alcaraz would've prefered to play Jarry ou Fonseca...

Vamos in 3

Norrie in 4.

He will be extra motivated to win with the crowd on his side. He will not let Alcaraz off the hook like Rublev did in the last match. His defensive counterpunching style will frustrate the crap out of Alcaraz and cause him to make more unforced errors because he will not give him the pace he likes.

Carlos will concede a set just because he likes to play tennis. Hope for a breadstick.

Lol, you're nuts. And I don't even like Norrie.

Alcaraz will win comfortably. He will step up and we at the business end of the slam again. He’s still the favourite for the title.

Rublev has a huge forehand though (one of the fastest racquet-head speed on Tour I think), so he could dictate from the baseline and put Carlos into defense. Norrie doesn't have a weapon to hurt Alcaraz, and counterpunching won't save him on grass because Carlos can hit through the court often enough to make the difference.

Last time these 2 played was all the way back in 2023. On Clay.

Easy win for Carlos? Or is Norrie pulling off an upset.

Carlos leads H2H 4-2

Are you afraid that Alcaraz will defeat your idol again at Wimbledon?
:sneaky:

Carlos in 3, Norrie has nothing to hurt him so unless he decides to go for a mental walk for a set this be a comfortable 3 set win.
Just skip this to the SF when KK or Fritz actually have an outside chance of causing an upset

Fritz couldn't beat even musetti last year. Unless Carlos is injured , no chance. Maybe norrie can tangle with him. I would be very interested in this norrie match.

I wouldn't be surprised if the crowd support is fairly balanced. Carlos gets a lot of support wherever he plays.
