This was exactly the display I hoped for. Cameron Norrie’s proposal for the future of tennis put on display and brutally throttled with zero sympathy. His pusher game dissected and demolished to a pulp.

The pusher’s family and friends will greet him with the sort of sheepish half-smile you only see after having witnessed a great humiliation. Everyone who contributed to his life so far — his parents, his grandparents, his girlfriend, his friends, his childhood tennis coach, his former college teammates, his current coach — they’ll have all come to a realization deep down in their hearts. They backed the wrong man, and Cameron Norrie plays the wrong style. He has failed and will always fail, forever and ever, he will never win Wimbledon, and nor will any despicable pusher with a disgusting game as ugly as his.

They may fake a smile or feign support, but deep down they know. Norrie is a Bum. Carlos is The One.

What about Norrie’s house maid? How will she react to this loss? :D

So we've got Alcaraz v Fritz - always a SF that looked likely to happen. Well done for both to make it there. Alcaraz looks to have rounded into form very nicely. Fritz will be a step up from Norrie, he had a great grass court season. But Alcaraz has not lost a set to him yet - I don't think he'll lose three unless he has a real off day. And he doesn't usually have these at this stage of the tournament.

Thats whats really scary...
If Carlos wins this year I think he could win 6 or 7 in a row. The thing I have noticed is he looks very relaxed even when playing badly, like he knows he will win. Similar how he is in clay really. Hard courts maybe he has more challengers but this guy is 22!!!. Unless Shelton steps up inreally can't see anyone stopping Alcaraz. Sinner, as much as I like him is too one dimensional

Well im one of them lol, and i def wont go crazy :D. Big3 was big3, we have to embrace the future:cool:
I'm a Rafa fan but already sanguine that in all honesty Carlos has moved the chains. Djokovic fans on here seem sanguine too. We all recognise greatness and Alcaraz is special no doubt. Imagine how he would be if he was a focused as Sinner lol

Hih? Alcaraz has Fritz and Djokovic in his path. Fritz will likely stretch him to 5 sets and make him tired. Djokovic could do the 1-2 punch and then beat Alcaraz.
Or Alcaraz might have to play 2 consecutive 5 setters to beat Fritz and Djokovic. He is capable of doing that, but not super likely.

Facts, haven’t seen him stressed in forever

Yeah although im not a fan, you have to love Carlos. His game is very entertaining, i love his aggression, and he is a very likable guy. And yes, he has the same ability as Nole/Rafa to turn matches around, finding a way to win. He already owns grass/clay, HC will be interesting. I think HC will be the surface where his height is a clear disadvantage. His serve will always be attackable. Lets see if he can challenge Sinner for the HC throne!

With Alcaraz's talent and quality and a fairly low level of competition on grass, Federer's record at Wimbledon could be in danger within a decade.
the only way it could be im danger if Raz wins this and next year. If he loses on sunday to Sinner or Novak i dont see him ever getting the record

It will be very interesting to follow their H2H. Its probably only a matter of time before Carlo will go deep enough to face Sinner in the HC slams, lets see if Sinner can keep his throne or not...

Wow, it would be amazing if that record fell so quickly.
It took 17 years from Sampras to Federer, and if Alcaraz were to win a ninth Wimbledon title, a similar amount of time could pass.

Had a meeting, couldn’t watch, but the scores look like it was the expected drubbing. Did anything interesting happen during the match?
Alcaraz basically stayed locked in for 3 whole sets. Very minor lag in the middle of the second set notwithstanding. That's probably the most interesting thing, aside from some of the sexy tennis he played.

It scary what Alcaraz could do. He could really put the big 3 numbers in the shade. He that talented the tennis world can be his oyster!

I really think some of you need to take that old Nadal quote to heart and apply it to Carlos: generally when he wins, he's not as good as everyone says and when he loses, he's not as bad either.

Carlos played some really solid and varied tennis and is getting keyed in. Norrie was a bit jaded from tough matches and leveling up too soon as well as not having the weapons to really hurt Carlos more generally. Staying on point (largely) is in itself an improvement for Carlos too.

I enjoy Carlos' game and hope he does well here. If he plays his best, he should win the title. But he can still have off days, play someone who forces him to go for too much etc.

It's way, way, way too soon to talk about 7 or 8 years into the future. He hasn't even finished this tournament.

I agree that it's way too soon to predict what Alcaraz could achieve. So many things could happen in the years ahead that could affect how many he wins.
His achievements so far have been amazing though.

Honestly I'd love to see him do it. When I watch him I feel like I'm getting a second chance at seeing Federer again.

He isn't another Federer I know but I love watching his improvisation and aggressive play, and that's one of the things that made me a Fed fan.

NORRIEGOAT has blessed the world of tennis by graciously laying down his sword before the young king, knowing the joy that would spread throughout the land.

I love you NORRIEGOAT :love::love::love:

Presumably, it'd be easier for you to deal with Alcaraz matching/surpassing records of Federer than Djokovic or Nadal doing so, given that they were his rivals. Plus Alcaraz has a more attacking game.

Haha! Well you never know the tide might turn. I admire your loyalty to your favourites though ;)
Not much to not like about Carlo though, i like both his game and his personality. I dont really know why Sinner is my new man, i think it was partly all the heat he got around here during the doping case and all. Yeah lets see what the late HC season brings (W first ofc, but looks like Carlo has this one), Sinner still is the winner of the last 3 HC slams;)
