Will Alcaraz complete the career slam and hand Djokovic his first AO plate or will Djokovic get his 11th AO and 25th slam trophy?

Alcaraz isn't truly injured, he was cramping badly but that's usually temporary. He's very young and has got a bit of time to recover for Sunday's night match.

Will be very very interesting to see how Djokovic recovers for Sunday and what kind of mindset and tactics he adopts. As the King of Melbourne with a 10-0 finals record, I think all things considered this is a 50-50 match.

Hard to call. I just hope Djokovic recovers well from this marathon match!
Novak matches up better with Alcaraz than he does with Sinner. He has to win this slam. He will not have another chance.
And with Alcaraz injured and cramping, I think Novak will prevail.
Certainly the Novak in the SF today would beat the Alcaraz in the SF today.
Novak's level is WAY higher than Alcaraz's level right now.

Novak said it:”…I hope to have enough gas to stay toe to toe with him…”
He is on a mission - my vote in Novak in 5

I’ll go Alcaraz in five. Who knows? Crazy semis.

I do half think Novak emptied the tank in the semi and we could get a Wimbledon 2024 kind of beatdown, but then I remember last year and throw that thought out the window lol. May the best man win. If Djokovic can pull this off, beating Sinner and Alcaraz back to back at 38-years-old, he’s more than earned the title.

Yes but like a good viewer I saw it coming and picked Novak btw Sinner was so bad on bps and it costed him the match. Novak showed why he’s the best player out of big 3 , mad respect.
Have some damn respect for these guys and stop blindly fanboying Sinner. You just saw that he's not all that. There was nothing bothering him, at 24 right in the middle of his prime, at the AO, lost a 5 setter to a nearly 40-year old Djokovic. Alcaraz lost to an old Djokovic, but Sinner lost to an even older Djoko.

You did say that but Alcaraz will be very tough on Sunday. Novak has to replicate tonight and not easy to do at his age.
True. But I don't think Novak will have to play at this level to beat Alcaraz.
On this court, in AO, in the night session, Novak is better than Alcaraz. This is Novak's best surface and Alcaraz's worst.
The biggest hurdle for Novak was Sinner, he won't be trouble as much with Alcaraz. And generally Novak matches up much better vs Alcaraz.
I'm predicting Novak in 3 or 4 sets. I'm betting money that the match won't go to 5 sets.

LOL - just as Djokovic in 5 over Sinner was the LEAST likely outcome.
Trust me the match will be decided in 3 or 4 sets. With Novak winning most likely as he matches up better vs Alcaraz.

One difference - unlike Sinner, Alcaraz has a very good record in 5 set matches, including beating Djokovic in 2023 Wimbledon. Djokovic pulled off an incredible 5 set comeback today, but doing it twice is asking for a lot against a player who is 16-1 in matches that go the distance - he's more likely to win in 4 sets rather than 5.

I didn't expect the win over sinner, but here we are. At this point it's going to be a toss up. ND has his recovery work cut out, but so does alcaraz wiht maybe some kind of lingering abductor issue. I'd have to favor ND at this point. ND in 4.

One difference - unlikely Sinner, Alcaraz has a very good record in 5 set matches, including beating Djokovic in 2023 Wimbledon. Djokovic pulled off an incredible 5 set comeback today, but doing it twice is asking for a lot - he's more likely to win in 4 sets rather than 5.
Exactly. I'm betting the match won't go 5 sets.
Novak will likely win in 4.
Two reasons: 1) Novak's level in the SF today was HIGHER than Alcaraz's level in the SF. 2) Novak's best surface is AO which is Alcaraz's worst surface. Novak is nearly UNBEATABLE in night matches in AO, just as Sampras used to be in night matches in UsOpen.
