On the other hand, even the Croat thinks Rybakina is a Russian. Potato jokes are a racist stand-by when it comes to Russia.

Reading these threads after the fact, I can't find the comment disputing Aryna's tie-break record. The record was about her matches in slams. The tie-break loss to Pegula was at Wuhan, not at a slam

Not sure about this take with Sabs.
She has like 20 consecutive tiebreakers won, so her shortcomings do not necessarily depend on the closeness of the match.
I think it’s certain matchups. Rybakina has become a tough opponent for her.
Regardless, she is the #1 in ranking points still by far, so she’s got some consistency, or it’s just that the other players are worse.
Rybakina herself has the weapons to reach #1 if she stays consistent, which always has been a big question with her.

Thanks for your attention to my analysis.
I can’t comprehend my own analysis, since I found an error in it, which was detected by a helpful user.

Errors normally occur when my certification team leaves on vacation without giving due notice in advance.

Therefore, I’m afraid that this weekend I am on my own. Maybe I could try to expand the analysis after I have duly comprehended it.

This is the gold standard:

Sabalenka is the most consistent player on the tour— goes very deep in every major tournament. A deserving number 1 given the current field. Gauff is not nearly as consistent and Swiatek can always lose.

That said, Sabalenka is not a dominant World Number 1. She is not a player that you expect to win three slams a year, for example. She’s not Serena, Graff, Federer or Djokovic. Nor she is going to be, and that’s okay.
Don't tell Thundervolley that. Though what's funny is that Thundervolley is always putting Swiatek down as overrated when Swiatek is 2 slams ahead of Sabalenka while being 2 years younger.

Match stats reveal close parity.
Both players won 92 points.
Rybakina took more advantage of break points: 3/6 vs 2/8. I think this was the most decisive stat.

Sabalenka was better in winners/unforced errors 35/25 than Rybakina 28/24.

Rybakina gave her a 7-0 drubbing in WTA finals second set tiebreaker. Usually saba is very good in tb without her knowing how

Lots of talk about the Vukov stuff, and although I still have some mixed feelings about it, you can't really deny that the results are there.

As for the rest, well she has clearly had opportunities to distance herself from him. I know it's not always that simple, but given her statements, it's hard to know what the real dynamic is.

And I will say that the way he spoke to her on court in the big matches seemed completely normal and fine. He wasn't overly harsh or negative at all.

4th (not first)
Australian Open (not slam)
and - worst of all - "forgetting" the fact that number 1 and number 2 have no chance to do this
Not much left of this "record" lol.
Very good point, and I like when people point out flaws in statistics like this!

2nd Slam singles title for Rybakina (following her 2022 Wimbledon title) and 1st on hardcourt. She becomes:
...
She also avenges her defeat to Sabalenka in the 2023 final by coming back from a set down to beat her just as Sabalenka had done on that occasion....
Huh? Rybakina was never a set down in this one.
