ATP H2H: 6-6 tie
Grand Slam H2H: 2-2 tie
H2H on HC: 5-3 for Sascha

They met at the AO two years ago, with Zod winning in four sets. Will Zod be able to defeat Carlito again, or will Tiny Carl advance to the Happy Slam final for the first time? We'll see this extremely interesting clash on Friday!

Wonder if Raz will bring anything new to this match.

Zed's usual plan to outserve Raz and lock him in backhand jail looks pretty solid to me. Worked like a charm a couple years ago.

Dunno if the post-2025 Raz BH will be better at breaking out of jail. He did beat Zed last year in Cincy, but Zed was ailing that day.

I think this is a 50-50 matchup. Zed would be a favorite if it were Bo3, but Bo5 and the bigger stage equalizes things a bit.

Before the tournament I thought this was a given, but Zverev has played really well in this tournament. Still not good enough to take down a in-form Alcaraz. Going with Alcaraz in 4.
Well this could be the repeat of 2024 AO when Z served out of his mind and exposed Carlos on low bouncing Hc.

Bold one but i think Zed can pull this one provided he serves like he did today. In Vienna he pushed Sinner, the king of indoors, to the limit and he has a decent record against Carlos. He actually beat him in 22 and 24 in France and Melbourne respectively.
I am gonna be generous and give him some 40% chance

Zverev has been serving like a boss. His 1st serve% has been around 75% while serving 14 acres against just 2 double faults a match. That killer serve should allow Zverev to steal one set. Other than that, Alcaraz will completely destroy Z from the baseline.

Alcaraz in 4 by a score of 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4

Alcaraz seems to be having his best Australian Open to date. And Zverev also playing well. I hope the match isn't on in the middle of the night again so I can actually watch it.

Damn i forgot that Z beat alca a couple of years ago here in 4 sets. Payback? We shall see. Alca has to play better for sure.

Well well how Carlos will he tough if he can’t beat Z and Z easy if he beats Carlos?? Personally i am rooting for Carlos so he gets beat down in final.
Zverev craps his pants in Slam finals. Remember Soderling at the FO in 2009/2010? Nah, you don't.

Sinner giving Alcaraz a beatdown LOL. What's their h2h again? 2-7 in the last 2 years including 1-4 on HC?

Actually if Sinner serves more than 60% Carlos has no chance anywhere. His matches with Carlos are close even when he serves less than 50%, imagine how one sided it will be when Sinner starts serving more than 60% against Carlos.
The h2h is atrocious for Sinner across all surfaces and tournaments. Excuses. If if if. Sinner delivered once in the last 2 years and he was still a set down. Cause I'm not counting that 2025 ATP finals where Sinner had everything in his favor, indoors, Italy and an injured Alcaraz LOL. Wonder what the score would be if an injured Sinner played Alcaraz in Madrid? A bagel and a breadstick?

Well dude even with 50% first serve in Sinner almost won FO and keeps his matches close against Carlos, once he served 60% first serve in Carlos looked helpless ( at Wimbledon) lol and imagine what if he starts serving over 60% against Carlos? Game over for him. Btw our dp bet is on and you will have sinner DP after this Sunday  :-D @MichaelNadal you also wanna have bet? ;)

Dude with 50% serve he almost won? Damn Sinner is a God.
1-7
Can the tennis God deliver for once? Or does he rather want to be an excuse God?

If Alcaraz beats him in the final with Sinner serving at 47% will you keep talking this much nonsense again? The end result is all that matters, everything else is just noise. Alcaraz finds a way. Sinner finds excuses.

Dude didn’t you see Fo final? How Sinner was bossing him with less than 50% serve in?? Had he not choked 3 mps and service game it would have been easy peasy 4 set win for Sinner despite serving less than 50%. Why you sound so scared of this AO outcome ?even you know Sinner is wining this.

Mimimimi. More excuses. More nonsense. Sinner barely could've played better and he still lost.

And I'm not cocky for the AO final too btw, to me it's 50-50, but leaning Alcaraz, because of the h2h. To you it's a foregone conclusion. Which is freaking hilarious given how your guy at one point won 1 match out of 8 attempts against the guy he's probably gonna face. The most unwarranted arrogance EVER. You're talking with so much certainty one would think that Sinner did a 7-1 against Alcaraz LMAO.

I'm willing to bet you're the kind of guy who talks smack and then if Alcaraz wins you'll disappear from the forum forever, because you won't be able to take the heat. In reality Sinner should beat Alcaraz in the AO final to even make this rivarly interesting, because in reality Alcaraz is winning almost all the matches. If Sinner won half of the matches I wouldn't say a word, but there's this completely unwarranted "tour dominating" aura that he's getting that just makes zero sense in a world where another guy is literally pwning him.

Well, so far I have not lost a bet on TTW, why are you so scared of bet? You said yes and now backtracking like a small cat?have a bet ,if i lose I’ll have Carlos DP for a month and if you lose you will have Sinner do. Don’t make it complicated ,@Poisoned Slice offered me avi bet like a gentleman but you are being a lil cat. I am due a loss here , you have more chances of winning now.

Don't change the subject. Mr. "my guy is a God and is dominating the tour"

Yes and Alcaraz never existed.

It would be great if they knocked each other out. Since that's unlikely to happen, I'd still rather see non-favorite Chomperscaraz win than the disgusting violent offender Zverev.

Alcaraz to play his best match of the tournament and deliver a brutal beatdown. Carlos will COME TO PLAY on Friday after all those salty shade that Z was throwing at him last year.

Zverev has always been a tough matchup for Alcaraz but he hasn't played the new and even more improved Carlos so I don't know which way this will go but I'd be surprised if Zverev can take 3 sets off of this version of Alcaraz.
Yah man, copy that. Promises to be an intriguing encounter. I anticipate that each will raise his game and take it to the other. Carlitos, if on, is likely to prevail - hope so. Let's see.

Clown's 5-3 against Alcaraz on HC and 2-2 in Slams. It's a bad matchup.

Plus Zed played very well today.
That’s one way to spin it. Zverev has lost the last 3 out of 4 meetings, two of which were on HC. The only win was indoors, at the ATP finals when Alcaraz was frazzled at the end of 2024. The match up has been in Alcaraz’s favour in recent times.
Zverev needs to rely on his serve, which has been great this tournament but his best performance was arguably against Tien when he was again ‘indoors’. He’s dropped sets in every match bar one, unlike Alcaraz who is yet to drop one.
Alcaraz is not the player he was back during their early meetings; Zverev to my mind, hasn’t changed or progressed as a player.
Could be close, but bad match up for Carlos? No.

I wouldn't read too much into their latest HC meeting.

Zed IS a bad matchup in the sense that he does better against Carlos than one would expect from their levels, I'm not saying he's the favorite.

At any rate, I picked Alcaraz in 5.
