Perhaps you **** off?
I never asked about the rules.
You asked about why one is worth a timeout while the other is not. I gave you the reason. This is like asking why a teenager is allowed to have a car crash at the age of 16 but not allowed a sip of alcohol until the age of 21. I don't like it but the rule says it. So LIVE IT!

You gave me no reason. You gave me bullsheit.

But that's a nice analogy.
Perhaps I was too quick with the censored words.
Now my question is actually different.
Do we all collectively like it?
I mean, by this logic, no medical timeout should ever be allowed.
I get it. You have driven your opponent to cramping. you want to take advantage of that.
But you can just as easily drive them to a pulled hamstring. For which they are entitled to a medical.

Makes no sense.

Every person/every fandom on TTW knew Zverev was gonna choke.
Never seen TTW so united!
Other than Becker actually choking is pretty common among German players.

Stich: The mug who had 9 matchpoints on own serve against Chesnokov in 1995 DC, making 1/9 first serves, hitting two doubles, mishitting two easy volleys and somehow managed to lose the match.
Haas: Complete mental midget. Many chokes, one of which the Federer match at 2009 FO.
Kiefer: Complete mental mug. 2004 Olympics.
Kohlschreiber: The less be said about this guy the better.
Zverev: Perennial choker. 2020 USO at his all-time high ofc.

Yet why are Germans usually so good at penalty shootouts?

Yes I Carlitos! Outstanding stuff to prevail despite the physical issues, against Zverev at his best. Lion-hearted performance, impressive as much for the win as it was for remaining committed and having belief to the end. Dude backs himself no matter what- formidable, and likely to gain momentum as he matures. Wowsers!
Setting a record in making it to the final, his 4th GS final in a row.

Excellent effort from Zverev, playing more incisively and that sizzling serve is a real weapon. Impressed with his mind-set too, much more confident than he has been for a while.

The best sport in the world.
Heh, heh, but only when played with panache.

I know this won’t be a popular statement here…but I actually feel sorry for Zverev. It doesn’t get more brutal than that. That’s the kind of loss that can end a career.

Missed this because of work but HOW did sasha choke this away ?? i found out he was up 4--2 in the 5th set ??????
Zverev was also up 5-3 in the fifth set. That eighth game of the fifth set was a hardfought Zverev service game, with him fending off break points, and going for attacking shots.

Unfortunately for Zverev, when he served for the match at 5-4, he was more passive, and Alcaraz punished him. Alcaraz then broke Zverev again in the last game of the match, in a closeish game. Alcaraz won 4 games in a row from 3-5 down.

He said he hit the wall physically at that point and couldn’t move his legs like he needed.

He said after the match that he didn't have anything left in the final set. For a diabetic I think that is all his body could do.
couldn't he call medical timeout like Alcarez and go into the lockerroom and inject himself with D50 dextrose and insulin and come out with super power ??
