Djokovic is finally going into a slam match vs Sinner where he isn’t injured. He will show up this time and push Sinner hard. But I think that Sinner’s relentless pressure will finally wear Djoker down late in the match.

I’m taking Sinner by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4.
Djokovic wasn’t injured in french 2025. Sinner was just too good and same thing in AO 2024.

It's hard not to lose "many" when Alcaraz was winning Slams at 19 LMAO (and Djokovic still had Slams in him). What was Sinner doing at 19 again? Getting bageled and breadsticked by Nadal/Djokovic in 2020-2023?

But putting all of that aside - is Sinner's path to glory created by beating a 40-year old way past his prime Djokovic? Really? He's got a dude aged 22 who did a 7-1 against him and you're propping up Sinner by drooling over his wins against an old Djokovic who will retire in the next year or so? REALLY? THAT'S your case?
Same old Novak owned Carlos who you worship ,no? Btw why you running away from bet?? You’re a troll not a serious poster. I’ll get back to you once Sinner wins AO 2026

I’m afraid for Novak in this one…it would have been less painful for him to have lost in R1…for all the records he has achieved in this tournament with his 467th win against a pro ranked less than 57th or whatever…he’s gonna get hurt real bad, and not gentle like before…

He has nothing to lose. He defended his SF points. I think if Zverev loses to alcaraz then Djoko jumps back to no3. It all gravy for him at this point. Imagine still being 3rd in world at nearly 39? lol

Have you seen him move?

Blisters ****ing hurt.

Interesting fact: Sinner just won his 19th straight AO match, which ties him with Federer for 3rd place in the Open Era. Djoker snapped Federer’s streak in 2008. Djoker now has a chance to snap Sinner’s streak 18 years later.

That would be pretty insane for Djoker to pull this off. If he does, then we one day might say that Djoker snapped the streaks of the 2nd and 3rd best AO players ever(provided that Sinner passes Agassi’s 4 AO titles).

By same old Novak you mean 2022-2023 Djokovic? Yes that Djokovic was 10x stronger than the Djokovic that Sinner has been beating in 2024-2026. The difference is that Alcaraz didn't meet Djokovic enough times in 2024+ to repair the h2h against Djokovic and half of the matches when he did he faced the strongest versions of Djokovic after 2023 (2024 Olympics, 2025AO). Anyway, that doesn't matter. Djokovic isn't beating them ever again. And Sinner will have to beat Alcaraz to get some ATG wins. A bit tougher to take down prime Alcaraz instead of a 47-year old Djokovic.

Stop nagging me like a 7-year old. "WANNA BET WANNA BET COME ON WANNA BET?" Want some candy?

LOL he was already 35-36 years old. Lets not pretend 2022-2023 was some beast of nature never seen before. He was far from his prime even at that point, and was just beating up on a super weak field, same weak field that year Sinner and Alcaraz are beating up on and capitlizing on now, but both are definitely stronger than any 35+ version of Djokovic.

Who are the top 2 then.
Djoko won from 2011-13 and then lost in 14 quarters. So that's 25 straight match wins.

And then again from AO 19-23 and lost in AO 24 semis and deported in AO22 in between. So that makes 33 straight wins.

So those are top 2 streaks?

I phrased that poorly, since Djoker actually shows up twice on the list. I was only using each person’s best outing.

Djoker 33
Agassi 26
Federer 19
Sinner 19

I should have listed Djoker’s streak of 25 there.

Interesting take, man. You rightly point to the relentless pressure that is the cornerstone of Jannik's game, and I agree - Novak is unlikely to be able to sustain it. That said, there is no certainty and much will depend on their respective abilities on the day as to how well it is contested. Whilst I do not venture to give scores, I agree your estimated outcome of a Jannik win.
A word about Jannik's efforts thus far - he's been compromised due to health / injury issues yet maintained focus and played to win. It is worthy of applause when a player is brilliant, but equally worthy of acknowledgement when they succeed through sheer grit.

Sinner was absolutely nothing in 2023. A large part of the year he wasn't even top 10. Of course even old Djokovic was beating him.

God obviously wants Djokovic in the final. He will strike down the Sinner in the third. Its Gods will. He's making it easy for Alcaraz.

What?

He had several records and milestones:

13 semis at all Slams
400 Slam wins
103 record wins at AO
5 consecutive Slam semis

I think Djokovic is going to take a beating. Musetti should have sent him packing in straights and Sinner is a whole different level. Sinner is better in every aspect of the game right now. The match will likely not be worth watching. I could see Djokovic retiring simply so he can say in the post match that he could have won but the blister prevented him from being at his best.

I called Djokovic's win against Nadal at the French a few years back and a few other surprises, but even a constant dreamer like myself isn't realistically expecting a triumph in this one.

I am happy he is still making it this far at every Major though. He celebrated more than anyone else has, and the next best thing are deep runs which he is still doing regularly. Make the most of the last rides Novak...

Just be prepared for Alcaraz’s second GS final loss on Sunday.
Cool, your guarantees always go so well for you. What is your precious little Sinner's record against Carlos again? Yeah, thanks for another guarantee. Enjoy witnessing the youngest male ever to complete the career slam. Not guaranteeing it happens Sunday, but I like his chances. And yes, I can guarantee Sinner can't complete the career slam Sunday.

I voted for Djokovic in 5 just for the laugh.

The sad reality is it will be 6-1 6-0 6-1 to Sinner...

Just as long as Sinner breezes through the Djokovic match, fresh for the final.

meanwhile Novak beat Carlos last year and many times. I’ll demand respect from you on Sunday when Sinner lifts the trophy by beating Z in final.

That's the fact which burns the asses of the Alcaraz glazers: closer-to-retirement-than-not Djokovic soundly defeated Alcaraz at the Olympics and last year's AO in convincing fashion. Alcaraz was already well-established with a number of majors to his credit, yet Djokovic outplayed him on the biggest stages.

38 is up there but far from decrepit. You got quarterbacks older than that getting speared by 280lb defensive ends still suiting it up.

At that age, Id question the desire way before Id question the body.

Tennis and American Football are way different sports though. Really hard to compare playing QB with 10 other guys on the field vs playing Singles tennis...

footballs dont throw themselves.

If you dont like football, how bout boxing...

Many championship fighters have fought, earned, and defended titles well past 38:
Duran, Foreman, Hopkins, Klitscko, Donaire, Mayweather, Roy Jones

38 is not that old. A well kept Roy Jones was in his prime at 38 even after breaking his hand altering his style.

I've never heard anyone say fighter was in their prime at 38... That's some delusional bs right there. While it's not impossible for there to be success at later ages as plenty of athletes have achieved greatness in their late 30s and 40's, it's just not something you expect to happen.
Given how Djokovic looked against Musetti, I just don't see how he's gonna upset Sinner playing that way. I'd love to be wrong, well not really, but I honestly think Djokovic will be lucky to push it to 4 sets against Sinner.

At best Djokovic will take one set.

If first week Djokovic shows up, Sinner in four sets. If the Djokovic that showed up against Moose arrives, then it is straight sets.

Still keeping my prediction at start of tournament, Sinner beating Alcaraz in the final here. Have to stick to it right or wrong now.

I am really curious about how Djoko team is preparing for this match.
What would be their game plan?

Let's disregard the obvious things like "Serve well" and "Return well". That goes without saying.

Trading blows will not end well. He will be overpowered
Playing wide = Dangerous as Sinner hits hard from everywhere and you get back even worse than what you gave.
Going to the net = low percentage, high risk

So what plays are being discussed to give him a fighting chance?

Sinner physique have seemed a little bit... Suspect.

Perhaps attrition tactic could be something?
Play close to body to smother the lanky carrot and then counter offensively?

It's hard seeing them just saying like "Let's have fun and see how it goes".
