2026 Doubles

It's hot here. H/P were just broken twice to start he match. We're watching Mektic/Kracijek vs Kokk/Kovacevic. The Bryans are supposed to be on the next court vs fognini/Hewitt but somebody's late. We queued this a.m.
H/P have a history of melting in hot temps. This is not looking good.

You were right about the special Ks' serves. Kovacevic has the fastest serve so far (132 mph). The aces kept them in the match so far, winning the first set in a tiebreak.

Update: H/P just broke at love to win the 2nd set, and the stadium erupted.

Ks have to be averaging at least 2 aces per game. Mektic was just broken in the second. I don't see them coming back from this the way the KS are holding serve.

The Bryans vs Fog/Hewitt finally made it on court over an hour late, ha.

The K’s will be tough to beat in the heat. Kova has always played above his usual level in sweaty conditions.

Enjoying the updates / comments by @travlerajm and @ey039524, and the matches I have seen.

Hey there, man good to note that you're there and enjoying the matches.

They put up a fight but not entirely surprised to see Skup/Harr out – dudes often look vulnerable. Thought Vava / Bole would pull through in the decider, but not to be. Enjoyed Helio/Patt’s comeback and the energy of the match – good job get through.

Looking forward to the QF’s tomorrow, although it’ll be a pity to see either Arev/Pavi or Glas/Cash go out.

Heavyweight multi-slam champs A/P thoroughly dominated C/G for the second time this grass season, and 3rd time in 3 meetings overall on grass or hard, 6-0 in sets and 55:27 return point dominance ratio over those meetings. This has been a one-sided matchup.

And K/P saved double set point in the tiebreak to edge past D/R.

A/P and H/P will be heavily favored in the semi’s but the heat wave will still be on, throwing doubt on the outcomes.

The guy from Central America is having himself a tournament in the banana republic weather conditions. He’s in the mixed final tomorrow.

Interestingly, K/P have a 6-2 H2H record against A/P.

I still expect the oddsmakers to install A/P as the favorite since they are undefeated this grass season and have the superior resume, but could there be something in particular about this matchup that favors the Germans?

Krawietz is a junior Wimbledon doubles champion.

Edit: A/P opened on SofaScore odds as a slight favorite ( 1.73 / 2.00 ).

Yah man, Arev/Pavi just too good today. Glass/Cash found better rhythm in the 2nd set but outplayed to go out in straights.
Kraw/Putz did well to stave off the pressing Rebo/Doum and clinch it in straights.
Should be a couple of entertaining SF's tomorrow.

Forecasted to be the hottest day today (94F/33C), before it cools this weekend. The players are fortunate they're on grass courts in this heat.

Can H/P hold off the big serving Ks? I like A/P over the Germans in the other semi.

Watched Gabby dabrowski/Luisa Stefani play their match on Tues: Gabby is dominant! There's a reason why she and routliffe were #1, and why she and Luisa are #2 now. I'm concerned for my team Townsend/Siniakova. Let's see if the top two seeds make the final first.

Yah man, they could hold off the big servers! Helio/Patt were clutch when it mattered - superb effort to make the final. Patten deployed his superb backhand to execllent effect - my man of the match. K/K play well together, put up a good contest. .
Your pick in the other SF was spot on - Arev/Pavi ran away with it in the 2nd set, confidence soaring, games clicking. It'll be a cracker of a final, methinks.
Sorry your girls are out. 3 Chinese players in one SF - at least one will make the final.
Areva / Ostap won the mixed - MA in fine fettle to excel in both categories at this level at Wimby.

Sportsbooks are divided on who should be favored for the 2026 Gentlemen’s Doubles Final.

Some have A/P as slight favorites. Others have H/P as slight favorites.

White leggings Arévalo is a perfect 14-0 on grass, and A/P have to be considered the in-form team, having easily won the Queens final in straights vs H/P.

H/P are 14-1 at Wimbledon, with the only loss coming after not capitalizing on triple-match point against C/G in last year’s QF, amidst C/G’s 22-match win streak.

H2H is led 5:3 H/P, winning their only previous Wimby match in 2024.

I think it might come down to weather. Forecast is for high of 85F. Every degree matters. 84F or cooler favors H/P. 86F would favor A/P.

So 85 would be perfectly fair.

Watching the final-close, as you suggeted, but Helio/Patt have seemed that little bit sharper, taking the 1st set tb. Close 2nd set too, heading for a tb. I've decided Patten is my favourite current dubs player.

Yah man - Helio/Patt, Wimby dubs champions 2026!! Really pleased they did it. They play so well together. Well done to Arev/Pavi too for an excellent grass Court run.
Enjoyed the speeches, especially the superb comments by Henry Patten - including his view on the proposed cutbacks to the future of dubs.
And actually, it's really satisfying to note the crowd's enjoyment of the dubs here at Wimby, including today. Didn't know John Lloyd is retiring from the BBC - nice chap.
@ey039524 - your girls are in the final! Hope they do you proud by lifting the trophy tomorrow.

Some tributes to the dubs winners:
