Their first mutual match on the ATP Tour. For Jodar, it's his first appearance in the Grand Slam QF, which he achieved in his already 2nd career appearance at a Grand Slam events. Zverev is much more experienced in this regard, having reached the QF for the 8th time in Paris. Zverev is the favorite, but can the young Spaniard player stop him from winning his dream Grand Slam title? We will see the answer to this question on Tuesday!

I fear it will be too much for young Rafa. He's got great weapons nevertheless and could do it if he comes fit from the start, not like today. Gotta still give the edge to Sascha though until proven otherwise (hope he proves me wrong)

The longer the match goes the more it'll benefit Rafita imo

It's going to be a night session match, which favors the German player; just ask Rafa Nadal.
But the young Spanish player will demand that Zverev play his best match of the tournament so far.
Everything suggests that the number 2 seed in the draw will advance to the next round, but we'll see if he doesn't succumb to the pressure of being the top favorite among the remaining players to win the title.
Jodar won't make it easy for him, that's for sure.
Another great match is coming up in this unpredictable RG 2026.
:D

I think Zverev takes it in 4 sets, bagelling Jodar (as he wilts) in the 4th set.

Jodar matched my expectations of him, a Quarter Final run but I'm not convinced his conditioning can see him through.

Jodar isn't there yet IMO. Zverev in 4. But this could be the last year where Zverev will have an advantage over the kid, so he better make it count if he wants that Slam.

This is also probably the last time both Alcaraz and Sinner will be missing from the semifinal lineups. Zverev better take his once in a lifetime chance.
Seems to me that more and more strong young players are starting to emerge and all at once. Once they mature with both Sinner and Alcaraz coming back it's gonna be lights out for Zverev.

Again, I think Zverev beats Jodar in 4 sets, but if Fonseca goes through Mensik and doesn't spend too much energy for once I think that's gonna be the real final between Zverev-Fonseca with Zverev being a slight slight favorite there (like 60-40).

Zverev’s window is shrinking big time now. These youngsters named Fonseca, Jodar, and Mensik are 19, 19, and 20 years old respectively. They are in the QF of a major, which means that they are maturing quickly. Zverev better cash in his winning ticket at this tourney. It’s now or never.

I’m taking Zverev in 5. I think that Jodar will challenge Zvwrev big time, then run out of gas in the 5th set. It will be Zverev in a barn-burner by the score of 4-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4

Yeah, it’s too “early” for Jodar but I hope he proves me wrong. This is not a final so Zverev will probably not choke.

The kids born post 2000 look promising. What they’ve shown for now is mental fortitude. 90s gen on the other hand would have folded against Novak, but not Fonseca.

Imagine that Kouame kid is just 17 lol.

This really is Zverev's best chance. Alcaraz, Sinner out. A half-decent draw. Jodar in the QF and Fonseca in the SF probably and both will be pretty tired and not in their primes yet and if Zverev reaches the final he'll play a mug (at best Aliassime, but wouldn't be surprised if he got someone like Tiafoe or Cobolii LOL), so even if he gets nervous he's so much better than whoever is left from the top half that he should pull it off unless he literally collapses. It's really now or never. This is the one shot he's been waiting for.

And This is the one tournament that will determine if he will end up in the Hall of Fame or not. He will never get an opportunity like this ever again lol.

Zverev has been accused by 2 women of abusing them. As for Jodar, well I just don’t like him.
Fonseca is arguably a bigger dipscheiss. Jodar just gets people off because his name is Rafa and he is very possibly on his way to win RG on his first run, just like a certain other Spaniard who plagues TTW's netizens every day :giggle:

Accusation = guilt?

scary.
There have been a few instances of Jodar acting impatient/bratty. Such as:

Is it terrible behavior? Of course not. He's a super competitive kid in the middle of fierce competition. But it does speak of his psychological makeup and most likely his upbringing as well. Hopefully he'll mature and learn to be a kinder person even under pressure, but even if he doesn't, it's not the end of the world.

But we now live on a hyper-recorded world, so if he wants to be beloved by the public, he'll need to act accordingly.

Though I must say, I wouldn't mind a genuine heel one of these days. Nothing made me smile more than when Meddy told off the entire NYC crowd years ago at the USO.

If he lets the kid go then it will be deja vu again like Sinner. Chainz needs the chainz here.

I'm always a skeptic so I chose Zeddy over Rafa Jr. After the passing away of the beloved #1 seed to heat stroke, Zverev has been the favorite by a pretty fat margin and I think he's going to look good until the inevitable choke of a final.

I'd be of the same opinion but I don't think much of anyone in the other half, no Thiems there. It's perfect for Zedrot, if he gets through QF SF he takes home the trophy imo.

Would be more exciting if Rafa really comes out and puts a beating on Zverev like he does ballgirls, but I don’t see him being able to truly outplay Zverev at this age. If he does, that would be best.

Realistically, the best outcome for the fledgling reputation of tennis is Zverev winning, feels like the only way he loses is if he chokes in awful fashion and that’s just an embarrassing product to watch.

Yes. Zed will reach the final and the match will go to 5th set.
After that..

I think we are in for a surprise. I am rooting for Zverev to get a slam ,but Jodar if not tired will be a huge issue. Not that Zverev can't beat him but he will have to be level wise and mentally very solid to do so.

Jodar can defend all day long AND attack while on defence. He can match Zverev blow for blow especially if Zod plays scared kitty defensive tennis

I think Zed will choke this match away! This is his time, theoretically. He'd put himself in there (holding the champion's trophy), but he'll somehow choke it away, and I think it'll happen in this match.
Choking at finals is more likely

Y'all running wild now. :D
