Sinner had a good excuse hthough, he had full body cramps, you literally can't move with that. But Sabalenka excuse was that it was crazy WindyLol Sabalenka pulled a Sinner
That isn’t a good excuse it’s a downright embarrassing one. Sinner’s exit is still more embarrassing for me.Sinner had a good excuse hthough, he had full body cramps, you literally can't move with that. But Sabalenka excuse was that it was crazy Windy
It was the team's responsibility (him included) to not gamble with his physical integrity by playing (and winning) 3 Masters 1000 tournaments on clay before what was the top priority in 2026. It has nothing to do with lack of fitness, unless you think a player can just compete week-in-week-out winning every single match and be expected to do that for months on his least favoured surface. It wasn't the loss that was embarrassing, but the preparation for this tournament. That isn’t a good excuse it’s a downright embarrassing one. Sinner’s exit is still more embarrassing for me.
Lol Sabalenka pulled a Sinner
The clay masters are extended so they’re not that grueling like before. IIRC Sinner also didn’t think they affected his preparation/stamina. Like all gingers he melts in the sun’s heat.It was the team's responsibility (him included) to not gamble with his physical integrity by playing (and winning) 3 Masters 1000 tournaments on clay before what was the top priority in 2026. Studies show that people with red hair are more impacted by heat and cold and have more trouble regulating body temperature. The same mutation that causes red hair changes their pain and temperature management. That isn’t a good excuse it’s a downright embarrassing one. Sinner’s exit is still more embarrassing for me.
I’d take that easily over Chwalinska or Shnaider tbh.heading to our next teenage slam champion in a couple days?
respectfully disagree about Andreeva...multiple, on different surfacesI’d take that easily over Chwalinska or Shnaider tbh.
Andreeva is a player who feels like should win at least one slam on tour in her career (and it’s only young) so I’d be happy for her to do it. Ditto for Kostyuk of course. But I don’t see either of those top 2 mentioned above making a slam final again outside of this RG.
Chwalinska, the 2026 Roland Garros champion, is such a wildcard I can see that prediction, but why would you make such a claim about Shnaider? She's 22, she showed a level of maturity on a stage she's never been on yesterday that was very encouraging. Do you just not like her?But I don’t see either of those top 2 mentioned above making a slam final again outside of this RG.
I was referring to Chwalinska and Shnaider never making a slam final again or winning one. Not Andreeva. She could have a better slam career than Sabs tbh at the rate Sabalenka is going.respectfully disagree about Andreeva...multiple, on different surfaces
hope for one with Marta
Frankly i want Andreeva to win because of Kostyuk wins she will do a long speech in the final making everyone uncomfortable. If Andreeva keeps playing like this, there isn’t even a remote chance that Kostyuk will agree to shake hands at the end of the match. As for hugs and kisses, those are completely out of the question.
Respectfully disagree. Firstly, lol, declaring Chwalsinska the champ of this slam already.Chwalinska, the 2026 Roland Garros champion, is such a wildcard I can see that prediction, but why would you make such a claim about Shnaider? She's 22, she showed a level of maturity on a stage she's never been on yesterday that was very encouraging. Do you just not like her?
Ug. How easy yall forget Andreeva liked pro Russian invasion posts years ago about Ukraine while Yastremska who was under siege underground in Odessa reported her to the WTA.Frankly i want Andreeva to win because of Kostyuk wins she will do a long speech in the final making everyone uncomfortable.
And plus if Schnaider be the other finalist, can't imagine how cold the atmosphere would be.
Secondly, Shnaider has a great game but it’s all been in doubles. Her junior slams all came in doubles, her adult results all on the doubles courts. Her beating Sabalenka was just her second ever win over a top 10 player and let’s be honest, Sabalenka choked that.
I said what I said. We’ve seen enough players make a slam SF or final or even win one and fade to oblivion. Are you not downplaying Shnaider here? The level she was on in the 3rd set would have beaten Sabalenka anyway. Of course Sabalenka let her in and wilted away mentally but let's not pretend Shnaider was not painting lines and blowing Sabalenka away from the Forehand.
It doesn't matter what came before, she could have been 10000 ranked singles player but what matters is Shnaider has showed up big time this tournament. And hit an obscene level in the 3rd.
Yeah, and then his batteries went to zero.Respectfully disagree. Was 5-1 up in 3rd set.
She's not done yet much, no, but again, she's 22! Time is on her side, even in the historically shorter windows of the women's game. Sabalenka definitely choked, but just as those conditions did not suit Sabalenka's game, they also did not favour Shnaider's, and down a set and a double break was a hell of a time for her to find her composure in them.Firstly, lol, declaring Chwalsinska the champ of this slam already.

Shes won some singles titles but nothing big and never looked threatening on the big stage.
But I also said last night that watch Andreeva/Kostyuk play a battle and Chwalinska/Shnaider snatch the win.
I said what I said. We’ve seen enough players make a slam SF or final or even win one and fade to oblivion.
got it, sorry..must have misread itI was referring to Chwalinska and Shnaider never making a slam final again or winning one. Not Andreeva. She could have a better slam career than Sabs tbh at the rate Sabalenka is going.
The only women who were distractingly attractive to me were Ivanovic, Dementeiva and Henin(not for looks but that God damn backhand)
Yeah. Penko was days away from turning 20.Is Andreeva younger than Ostapenko was in 2017?
Obviously Hingis in the youngest but next up from memory was Penko. Could Andreeva take that?
For me it does and I’ve had this argument before on this forum. I don’t want some random winner who bombs out like Raducanu. I want a consistent woman on tour to boost this wonderful sport instead of the nonsense we hear of “yet another random woman wins a slam”.Does it matter though? She is not hitting those high due to luck, there is routine hardwork behind it. I get your concerns about one hit wonders.
But a slam although as big as it is, is just one tournament. Its about the best player that fortnight, not the best player all year. For that we have the rankings and the year end championships.
