I’m looking forward to this one. Mensik gang stand up. @Federer and Del Potro
I am glad about the result. I knew the Third Man didn’t have what it takes to take down Z. Perhaps Mensik does, we shall seeOur boy was supposed to lose to ADM. Didn't. Supposed to lose to Rublev. Didn't. Supposed to lose to Fonseca. Didn't. @Kralingen in ruins.
He deserves to win a slam considering how consistent he been for years. The domestic abuser winning a slam would be absolutely terrible for tennis.
I like the cut of your jib.Neo-Mensik to save tennis. Zverev will butcher a volley at a pivotal moment.
It pleases me.Who thought Mensik would be the semifinalist after nearly dying after the 2nd round.
Supposed to lose to those guys according to whom? I thought he was the slight favorite over Rublev and Fonseca. At least 50/50.Our boy was supposed to lose to ADM. Didn't. Supposed to lose to Rublev. Didn't. Supposed to lose to Fonseca. Didn't. @Kralingen in ruins.
Zed is used to pulling the rug himself..let's see..I haven't seen much of Mensik to really comment on his prospects, but Sascha needs to stop hitting every rally ball like a garden party invitation. If he is not stepping up and imposing himself, opponents will have a window to take control. Jodar wasn't and Mensik may not be mentally ready to do it, but an inspired finalist or even Mensik can pull the rug below his feet if he keeps pushing.
I never wondered, because I never thought he was supposed to, because Nadal-Djokovic were always better than him on every wurface. It would be so cruel if Zverev doesn’t win this slam. You gotta wonder when is he gonna do it if not now. He has had so many heartbreaks.
I never wondered, because I never thought he was supposed to, because Nadal-Djokovic were always better than him on every wurface.
And Alcaraz/Sinner too, so no real window for him ever, plus he plays too passive in big matches, so hard to believe he'll ever win a slam.
Berrettini has the game and aggressive mindset to win a slam, whereas Zverev just has the game and you need more than game to win a slam.
I think if mensik didn’t go through so many grueling matches, and didn’t show signs of cramping through 2-3 sets yesterday, I’d have more confidence in him grinding out another 4/5 setter.
Maybe. Two days off before Friday, and he is only 20. Plenty of time to recover.
Yeah I mean he was playing his 4R match as if he was about to routine Rublev in 3 and started fading. If Mensik is physically healthy and no injury, I don’t think he’ll be so tired he can’t beat Zverev. He has two days to recover and is a 20 year old pro athlete.
My big concern is him being injured and either pulling out or retiring mid match.
I mean I agree Mensik could get tired or fatigued. But I think two days rest and the adrenaline of a slam SF should stand him in good steed to start things off. Tiredness, imo, would only be a factor if Zverev keeps him out there for four, five hours.Yeah I mean he was playing his 4R match as if he was about to routine Rublev in 3 and started fading.
Zverev has really cruises through his matches. He’ll take full advantage if mensik shows signs of fatigue. I mean he was struggling with cramps yesterday but have to say he handles them better than sinner. Haha
