I wouldn't either. However, Sinner has shown repeated vulnerability for years now in longer matches and the heat. I'm sure his team has done all they could, but it sounds like an issue that CANNOT be fixed. I've NEVER seen a match where someone leading 5-1 in set 3 - 4 pts away from the match just wilts because of lack of will.
After the Novak loss in Australian Open 2026, it is NOT clear to me that Sinner is a favorite vs Novak in a best of 5.
Not to mention that without Alcaraz, Novak will be SUPER SUPER Motivated to win #25 at his best surface.
Honestly, at this time, I would have Novak as the #1 favorite to win Wimbledon 2026, and I would be very surprised if someone else won it. Djokovic is a great champion and he won't let such a unique opportunity go.
 
I guess Sinner's chances are dependent on Britain encountering a heatwave...

Sinner will be by far the favourite, I would throw Shelton and Fritz in the mix, Zverev to my knowledge hasn't been past the 4th round of Wimbledon. Mensik, Fils (if he plays) and Cobolli, then lets see how Jodar and Fonseca do.

I'm sceptical of Djokovic's chances, people are talking this up as Djokovic's last chance of winning a slam and I agree but he needs a favourable draw and to avoid big hitters.

Grass field a lot weaker than clay/hard court field. Fritz is probably the best on grass outside Sinner/djokovic with Alcaraz out.

Djokovic has a better chance here but the problem is sinner and the body holding for 7 matches. He needs quick matches and to serve well but the weaker overall field helps him more.

He just needs sinner out. It’s grass and the points are shorter. You do realise the field are even weaker on grass?

Even at 39 Djokovic is still the favourite against any player but sinner

You will soon see that he will lose at least one set in most matches and will arrive (if he does) at the final rounds without the energy to be defeated by a top player at that stage.

Sinner and Djokovic are the only 2 active champions in the draw. Cilic, Berrettini and Kyrgios (if playing) the only other active finalists.

No, it's simply impossible for a tennis player aged 38 or older to win a Grand Slam tournament under normal circumstances.
Even Djokovic, with his privileged physique and the luck factor, so to speak, was unable to achieve it at the recent Australian Open.
That's why he emphasized it repeatedly, so that his fans wouldn't get their hopes up for nothing.
