She's serving pretty much 60% or above except Sierra match.

She has literally done the same thing two matches in a row. Unwatchable first set to really pretty good third set. Literally no point tuning in for her matches at the beginning unless you hate yourself.

Kudos Gauff. She played pretty well in the end. It's never really Beautiful Tennis with her. But the serve and forehand held up for the most part in the last two sets, she had some timely and effective net play and drop shots, and she, as always, defended and competed well. I only watched from mid second set onward, and at least from that point, she looked pretty good.

Would have been happy even if Pegula had won. She is a way better player today than she was 5-6 years ago.

In my case, there's no point in tuning in for her matches at all. I had switched to Sinner when it looked like Jess had declined so much, but then ESPN switched to show the last point. I know better than to watch her matches live - pretty much the opposite of you!

It reflects weaknesses - whether the forehand going off or the serve not clicking - but also reflects strengths - the ability to get the forehand and serve working better at times during the match, defense, grinding. You never know with Coco. Some points she'll play a straight up, good-looking tennis point, but those often don't come in consecutive bunches. She is, often if not always, an "ugly" player. But I respect that she keeps plugging and finds ways to win. I would like the overall package to look more cohesive and prettier, but I'm not sure that will ever happen.

This was probably Jpeg's last shot and she blew it big time.

Gauff can end up being #3 if she wins out.
Sabs and Rybs will remain #1 and #2 respectively next Monday, whatever result in the tournament.
