If i am in the stadium, i would be disappointed also. You play neck and neck and once 1st set tiebreak is lost , you retire. That means you are not thinking about the crowd at all.Look guys, it's not about being a Rafa, Roger or Nole fan.
It's about being real.
Ask ANYONE and they will tell you there is 0 chance you play at Wimbledon the way Nole did after having knee surgery.
Does he have any scars? You will not slide on a torn meniscus. Just 0 chance.
I'm sure he is in pain. 100%.
He needs the drama to pump himself up. That's why he always picks a fight and then acts the victim.
Fair game to him. Whatever works, right? Other players get injured as well.
You don't know they play with an injury until the end of the tournament or until they retire.
He makes it a big deal. He is undoubtedly the most skilled player that ever played the game. The way he moves the ball is insane.
But you never know what is actually going on. His MTOs are boring because other players are starting to do the same. MTO before the opponent is supposed to serve out the match at 5-4 in the 3rd. Get out of here with that....
Did he deserve to be booed today? Absolutely not. Was it just 5 people and they made it seem like the whole stadium did it? Yes.
He could have played for some time, let people show how much he is struggling lose the set 6-1 for eg.
Then gracefully retire.
As an eg. Federer was also injured against djoker in 2020 AO semi. After losing the first set, he knew there was no chance. He played on for another 2 sets.
