3 Americans in ATP top 10 for first time since 2006

With Shelton's run to the semis in Stuttgart, we are guaranteed 3 Americans in the ATP top 10 for the first time since April 2006(Roddick, Blake and Agassi). Interestingly, there were 3 Argentines in the top 10 that week as well(Nalbandian, Gaudio, Coria). Shelton joins Fritz and Paul in the top 10. Tiafoe is currently #13.

I know, American men suck compared to the American women, and they suck compared to Sinneraz, but in 2016 there was a time when Steve Johnson was the highest ranked American(while not even being in the top 20) so this is pretty impressive progress IMO.

Also this is the first time the majority of the top 10 are 2000s born players(Sinner, Alcaraz, Draper, Musetti, Rune, Shelton)

Some other trivia, Shelton is the 12th American to make their top 10 debut since 1990. The others:

Sampras
Courier
Martin
Roddick
Blake
Fish
Isner
Sock
Fritz
Tiafoe
Paul

I’m curious, who was there for the shortest amount of time and the lowest ranked? (e.g., Ranked 10th for less than 3 months) That’s kind of like skimming the Top 10, but really not establishing yourself in the Top 10.

Thierry Tulasne was ranked in the top 10 for exactly one week in his entire career:)

Is Rainer Schuettler the record for a top 5 player inside the top 5? He peaked at number 5 immediately after losing the 2004 Monte Carlo final to Coria. Schuettler only spent 3 weeks ranked at number 5.

True, but he could still claim to be the best "Thierry" tennis player of his genration, well ahead of Thierry Champion (coolest name though).
Thierry Champion infamously got triple bagelled by Sergi Bruguera at the 1993 French Open.

Jiri Novak spent only one week in the top 5. Robredo also only spent 3 weeks in the top 5.
