Today.
I'm going to share 3 elite tactics for playing better in your tennis matches.
I can tell you this too.
If you can master them.
You will start seeing yourself winning more matches in months.
So.
Please.
Go grab a pen and write these down.
One.
Develop better racket head feel.
Many players that I see in these tournaments have the potential to execute better in their matches, but, they all lack racket head feel and control, and it prevents them from doing it.
This is why many of them can't make their shots on those big points!
Pressure will always affect your feel for your shots.
Because.
It takes racket head feel and touch to execute under pressure.
Google search, because there are tons of exercises that you can do to improve on this too.
Two.
Make them play on your terms.
Always set the tone in your matches at the start.
By.
Making them play at your pace and on your terms.
In coaching.
We call this getting a good look at the point.
Never be in a hurry to start the point either.
Breathe deeply in between them.
Mentally picture what you want to do on the next point.
Then.
Flow with whatever happens during the point.
If you do this point after point.
You will play yourself into the zone eventually!
Last one.
Learn how to use the broken rhythm method.
This elite tactic is tied to the second one.
You see.
Most players like to get into a certain rhythm in their matches, and you can use the BRM to prevent that from happening.
How?
By mixing things up, changing spins on them, serve and volleying sometimes.
Look.
The goal is to keep them guessing.
By the way.
I had a high school teammate who had an average match play game.
We are talking.
Nothing spectacular at all, but dude mastered the BRM and went to state 2 years in a row.
I actually love watching him mentally breakdown his opponents while using it!
They would be screaming.
< How in the hell am I losing to this clown>
And.
Yang would just be looking at us and laughing the whole time!
So.
Watch some old matches of players like Mac and Jimbo and Jim and actually Yannick was the best at doing this gamesmanship.
He would never allow his opponent to get in any type of rhythm against him.
In all matches.
There are certain patterns of play.
That players go to again and again.
Once you recognize them.
The better you can get at breaking or disrupting those patterns.
And.
The more you will start winning those matches.
I mean.
This does make sense right?
Anyway.
Let me know what you think.
