I think no national tennis fan is classy when it comes to their own playing on court in a huge match. A good example of this is any Davis Cup match. Had there been a GS in Serbia or Spain, I am sure they would get pretty unfair too in some matches.

I believe they are evening matches. So e.g. they start at 7 PM. USO matches can start at 10 PM or whoever late they need to.
Djokovic played a night match against Baghdatis in the 4th round on this last AO that finished at 3 am. Just one example.

Alright, I just checked and it's pretty much the same between AO and USO. The only difference is that sometimes USO has a match that is scheduled to start not before 9 PM whereas at the AO they start at 7:30. Most of the time, though, USO starts at 7 PM. So AO matches can end even later, on average.

I agree with you, but sadly these new trolls know nothing about class and are like pitbulls. I just wont let them bully me and they for sure don't like that.
It means that you're an old troll? Cause I see YOU insulting people and bashing Federer in almost EVERY thread!

When so many people tells you that you're drunk, I think you should go to sleep! No?

They were cheering on UEs, heckling Berdych, among many other rude things. I'm sorry; the Madrid crowd is as every bit ridiculous as the American crowd in NY if not worse. Try pulling your nationalist head out of your rear end for once and you MIGHT see it.
I didn't have time to reply to this before. Well, most of posters here agree the Madrid crowd was fair, even Djokovic fans. It's you who needs to pull your anti-Nadal head out of your rear and you might see it. Yes, compare NY and Madrid crowd, what a joke. Don't accuse others of being biased, because YOU are the one who was banned for flaming this board with your anti-Nadal posts.

Oh yeah like when they cheer when Nadal's opponents doesn't make the first serve? C'mon let's call it what it is. Yes the French and the US are not the "classiest" crowds around, but don't pretend the Spanish crowd are better. Don't be too quick to judge against the US Open crowd either. For all you know there might be a lot of "Spanish" people there.
How many times did they do it, twice in the tournament? Yeah talk about it like if it was a pattern. Some people here can't stand a pro Nadal crowd, that's the problem.
Of course, the US crowd and Roland Garros crowd are far worse and there are numerous cases. I have been at the US Open 2 years everyday and many hours per day (besides many years watching on TV), and the night crowd at the USO crosses the line too many times even though it's not as rude and classless as the RG crowd.
And there are not a lot of spanish people there, there are a lot of South Americans and most of them are in day matches supporting their players, so nice try to make Spanish people responsible for the USO crowd but you fail.

I agree with this post fully. Berdych's gesture deserved a nasty response. Totally classless what he did. It was something you would see in the nba.

Yes, I remember the Nadal haters celebrating and saying that Berdych did nothing wrong and his gesture was ok, that he was their new idol, etc.

Tennis public are pussies! The crowds are fine, the gestures like the one of Berdych make tennis interesting. So does Djokovic's family, Hewitt's Come ons, Murray *****ing with Del Potro in Rome, Malisse calling a linesman a *****.. THis happens in everyday life, I'm cheering every unforced error Nadal makes at home if he plays Federer, why can't someone in the crowd. It's not as 'classy' as tennis is supposed to be, and I love the Wimbledon crowd for NOT doing it, but I think people shouldn't moan about for instance the Madrid crowd, OR the Berdych gesture. Who cares? It's fun to watch right?

I don't mind if Novak Djokovic calls Federer a ***** in an interview. I'll disagree, and won't like him more for it, but if he wants to say that we shouldn't make a drama about it. Same with Roddick's press conference at the US Open. All kinds of ****. To me, the one thing that matters is players giving their all to win and to entertain the crowd. If that sometimes gets a little out of hand there's a referee to decide what should be done.

IMO there's a lot too much talk about 'class' in tennis, and too little about tactics, matchups, great games and stuff like that. We all know so well how every player should behave.
