4.5 league vs. 4.5 tourneys

Based on my observations: I noticed the leagues tend to be stronger 4.5 players and the tourneys tend to be weaker.
In league, their are only 2 single spots and both tend to be strong 4.5 players and in Phoenix there are many 5.0 guys playing down.
In tourneys ( very hard to find many 4.5 tourneys), I notice a huge variety of strong 4.0 to weak 4.5 to only a few strong 4.5

Seems people take their league play much more serious than tourneys. At least adults .

I am playing 1 singles on a 4.0 team this year ( at least they told me) and that should be enough competition but I am going to try to play some 4.5 tourneys if I can find them. Most are in Washington and 150 mile drive from me and at probably dumping clubs.
I also like how the 4.5 tourneys only have 4-8 guys while the 4.0 's can be a total mess of 32 guys sometimes here.

I thought you were going to opt out of league while you re-tool your serve. Or, based on your last post, have you already passed that phase?

Based on my quick improvements that have surprised me
I told captain last week I will be playing

Usually I am slow at changing things but this time was different

Also appears I may be moving out of Portland in 6 months
God knows where to ?? Most likely my favorite region the Desert southwest
Portland is getting super expensive and today is one of the few days in 9 weeks that it has not rain, yet

And with my newly discovered alien gene changing pills: I will be upgrading my athletic ability and coordination to supreme levels

Just need another one for that super intelligence boost to limitless levels like the movie

There's no prize for winning a tournament aside from being able to say you won it. But if you win in league play, you get to go to nationals. Also, nobody can stop you from entering a tournament above your level. But if you try to get into a league above your level, no captain will take you.

Yes true

For league play I will only play 4.0

For tourneys only 4.5

4.0 tourneys are just too big for a weekend

No 4.5 team would take me since I am a 4.0
unless it's just to fill numbers .

I also was surprised that several people I know won most of their matched at 4.0 and were not bumped up
