Too bad he was last seen in 2015, I wonder if he reached the 5.0 level yet or gave up on it or whatever.

His dream was impossible but hope he at least put his best effort into it, the difference is jut too big from 4.5 to futures level, and no amount of training will overcome the massive gap of time and talent.

The guys playing at those levels are maybe a few out of 1000 kids who pick up tennis racquets and play since 6 years old, you need a ton of talent to play at that level, and also finances in order to have proper training and coaching.

And the guys also have 15-20 years of practice, coaching and match experience behind them, so the OP was at least 10-15 years behind and only starting at 26.

Its just impossible no matter what you do, ship has already sailed, but even if you started as a kid there are chances that ud never reach that level anyway.

I read the beginning and last part of the thread, both had comments of carrying too much weight. I don't understand how someone in the prime of life pursuing high level tennis can not take care of his weight when it is one of the few things completely in his control.

On the bright side he obviously improved a ton (sounds like he was 5.0; going undefeated in 4.5). Sad he is no longer playing. When I was his age I was just getting good (relative term of course) and here I am still plugging away and loving tennis 25 years later. Glad I wasn't so talented I had big goals then burnout when chasing the goal became too exhausting.
