I was finally able to get some quality time hitting with my four demos yesterday (had to wait for Ivan to move on out): Prince Diablo Mid, Prince Diablo Midplus, Volkl Tour 10 V-Engine Midplus, and Yonex RDX-500 Midplus.

Below you will find my rankings for each in the categories used by TW (in order from best to worst in each category):

Overall: Prince Diablo Mid and Volkl Tour 10 V-Engine Midplus (tie), Prince Diablo Midplus, Yonex RDX-500 Midplus

Groundstrokes: Diablo Mid, Tour 10 VE, Yonex, Diablo Midplus

Topspin: Yonex, Tour 10 VE, Diablo Mid, Diablo Midplus

Slice: Yonex, Diablo Mid, Diablo Midplus, Tour 10 VE

Control: Diablo Mid, Tour 10 VE, Yonex, Diablo Midplus

Power: Tour 10 VE, Diablo Mid, Yonex, Diablo Midplus

Serves/Overheads: Tour 10 VE, Diablo Mid, Diablo Midplus, Yonex

Maneuverability: Diablo Midplus, Yonex, Diablo Mid, Tour 10 VE

Comfort: Tour 10 VE (“plush”), Yonex, Diablo Mid, Diablo Midplus

Volleys: Tour 10 VE, Yonex, Diablo Mid, Diablo Midplus

Touch and Feel: Tour 10 VE, Diablo Mid, Yonex, Diablo Midplus

Stability: Diablo Mid, Yonex, Tour 10 VE, Diablo Midplus

Obviously these are MY opinions and are after only 3 hours of solid playing. I’ll try to put up a more extensive comparison (with my thoughts on each) next weekend.

At this point I feel I could use either the Diablo Mid or the Tour 10 with great results. The Diablo Mid is a lot like my POG mid but with a more solid feel and more power on my flatter strokes. The Tour 10 is a "plush" (huge sweetspot) feeling racquet that gives me the extra power to put balls away and fabulous touch at net.

Do I understand correctly? Four (4) demos with a combined three (3) hours total experience? God, it took almost that much time to compile and compose the rankings. It takes me three days at least to get to know one racket, and it takes TW three weeks to evaluate 1 or 2 rackets! We enjoy these type of comparisons, but I would have waited until after a far longer demo period to publish findings. "After one date one may be in love, though after a month one might cringe at the sight of the 'beloved.' "

That's why I put the "disclaimer" on it that it was only my 1st impressions and after only 3 hours of play.

Sometimes you just know if a racquet (or a woman) is not the one you want to spend a life time (or just a couple years :D ) with.

I'm sure that when it comes to women or racquets everyone has a "type" they are looking for or hope to find---the Yonex and Diablo Midplus are NOT my type :)

Since you like the Diablo Mid and like the feel of the Volkl Tour 10 VE MP, you might want to demo the Tour 10 VE Mid. Same head size, same static weight, same balance point, 18 mm beam compared to 19 mm for the Diablo. However, a flex of only 60 and a swing weight of only 318.

RDX500 Mid is missing!

It is often marked as better than M+, and if anything can be concluded after your Diablo Mid/Mid+ ratings, RDX Mid has good chances.

To be honest, I was hoping to move to a head size greater than my 93 sq. in. POG mid....that's the reason for no RDX500 Mid or Tour 10 VE Mid (I think it is only 93 sq. in. where the VE Mid+ is 98). I also assume (maybe wrongly) that the mids will have less power than the midpluses. I'm looking for something that will put the ball away a little easier than my POG mid.

The one racquet which I wish I would have demoes is the Wilson nCode nSix-One 95.

I buddy of mine wants me to order him two demos so I may order me the Wilson and then either the Diablo Mid or Volkl Tour 10 Midplus (16x19) again {whichever one I like best}.

Thanks for the input.
