What "similar things"?Even if that was true, is that the only thing you like about Djokovic?
I compare their playing styles and similar things, not just achievements.

You cant compare Higgins to Djokovic. Djokovic is GOAT with most achievements and Higgins isnt. Why does Higgins care about it, anyway? I have always seen him as the Djokovic of snooker. A boring and not liked player, especially after the story with him cheating in 2010. Comparing him and O'Sullivan to Nadal and Federer makes zero sense. Yeah, I'm sure these two will not be holding hands. So what? People are different. Just like snooker and tennis are different sports.
He is the richest ATG and a 20 time champ because of how good he is at his craft, not because he is tough mentally or in control of his emotions always. If someone like Stan Wawrinka or Lleyton Hewitt had Federer's skill and talent then they would be on 25+ slams by now, not sure about money because endorsement and such things have personality involved as well but in terms of toughness I can vouch that they would be on 25+ now, they would not cry after winning everytime because they are grown men in control of their emotions and not manchilds. They would not do this because they have control over their emotions and thats why when they would be in a winning situation they would not be feel too burdened by the weight of expectations and cave in. Federer's lack of control over his emotions after winning and he creating defeats out of winnable situations are both correlated somehow...
It's actually just the other way around. Most people want to pass themselves as intellectuals and educated, siding with anything mainstream. By taking the other route, one risks being bullied by majority and ridiculed.it truly is amusing how often TTW users attempt to pass themselves off as public intellectuals by labeling as many things as possible "fake" or "staged"
I thank these free-thinking individuals for seeing through the lies of mainstream media and sharing with us the ugly sides of stories Swiss pharmaceutical companies and the Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy withhold from us.
Not true. Eurovision is literally unwatchable for some of usThere's nothing wrong with cringey, Eurovision Song Contest is totally cringey but everyone watches
Imagine if we made new threads for every random jackoff's opinion about everything?
This thread is slightly less stupid than octomom or clayqueen posting that golf blogger's opinion about Nadal being the goat.
Higgins said:it was all a bit…cringey!
“Put it this way, if Ronnie retires I don’t think I’ll be there holding his hand and crying – I am never doing that.
BUT him holding Bull's hands with Bull weeping like a child who had lost his candy was sooo over the top. I closed the stream at the time because it was embarrassing.
I like Federer but all the crying he does is bizarre.
Yes I agree with him. I'm Fed fan but it was really bad retirement event overall. It would have been better had he chose to retire without playing that Laver sheet.
Exactly. The whole ceremony was cringe fest including the Ellie Golding singing. Good ol' Connors days, when men were real men, not the Fed beta males.
It was obviously cringy. There was no need to hold hands and cry. It was borderline bromance moment….but looked awful
Very tough.Federer is very tough mentally.
He is. He defended himself, that mafia forced him to do itDidn't Higgins get busted by a newspaper for entertaining the prospect of fixing Snooker matches a while back?
In any case, I sort of agree. Federer's always been a bit emotional, but the hand-holding was a bit much.
Very tough.
He's 40.15% tougher than the other tennis players.
Was the Djokovic shoulder rub rehearsed? It was obviously cringy. There was no need to hold hands and cry. It was borderline bromance moment….but looked awful
Men actually cry less than women because they are wired differently to women, different levels of hormones etc. It's not suppression of anything. They are actually less prone to crying. Thus, Federer managing to cry all the time is a bit weird. So let me get this straight: Emotional control = not displaying emotion when you want to? Sounds more like emotional retardation to me, to be honest.
I get it, there's a large part of this world that subscribes to the 'men don't cry' nonsense, but that's far from emotional control, it's emotional supression and somehow that makes you a 'real man'....
Emotions are there for a reason and RF apparently deals with them as he feels he should in a natural way, rather than in a socially enforced way.
If you find that cringy, it is because it doesn't fit in to what you believe to be socially acceptable and that really isn't RF's problem, but yours.

NO! I am mostly a Novak fan, but I do think the emotions shown by Rafa and Roger were real, as they seem to really like each other and are openly emotional men.I totally agree with Mr. Higgins. Fed has been always an emotional mess so him crying on his last day on court was to be expected. BUT him holding Bull's hands with Bull weeping like a child who had lost his candy was sooo over the top. I closed the stream at the time because it was embarrassing. Some of my friends who have seen the clips on socials media even thought it was fake, that they were putting on "an act for the audience" and honestly I think Bull felt that he had to cry on such occasion so he did.
Do you agree with Mr. Higgins?

It was for their social media followers for the more they have the better the sponsorships. It was obviously cringy. There was no need to hold hands and cry. It was borderline bromance moment….but looked awful
Yep. Just a sweet little gesture of emotional support. If someone finds it cringe, you know they likely never had that. Sad.
I loved Murray reaction to it all, like it was comical and pathetic, his face told the truth all the time
over the whole Fed lathering it all up as always.

Who in the absolute fudge is John Higgins?![]()
Martina Hingis, but male.Who, for crying out loud, is this Higgins?
Blame me.I'll never understand why this game has so much relevance on this forum.
Guy looks like a middle-aged blackjack dealer lol
Federer was supposed to remain the GOAT forever. It was a common and quite undisputable point of view in tennis world between 2007 and 2017.Higgins is right.
Federer demanded that people glorify him at retirement. That is why he played doubles with Nadal in his own Laver Cup, instead of like champions like Laver and Serena who went out simply by losing their last match at a regular tournament. Federer's real motive was to have Nadal and Djokovic pretend that he is one of them even though they have both moved far far higher.
Whole thing was a staged ego trip and sad part of it is that people paid money to see this.
First of all, I wonder what he thinks of Ronnie whispering into Judd's ear for 5 minutes after he won the World title this year.
Second, it's amazing how this momentary communicative clasping of hands, has through the seeming barring of all video, become perceived as two guys sitting there holding handsPeople are so stupid it truly blows my mind.
I wonder why you assume that posting your comment is not stupid.Imagine if we made new threads for every random jackoff's opinion about everything?

Then he's been degraded to a third wheel status. That's way too much. He desperately wants to be treated as the top player and he constantly refuses accepting the real hierarchy.
Exactly. So the OP turned off the stream of Roger’s farewell because it was agonizingly “embarrassing,” but starts a pointless and long-winded thread about it. File under “things you only read on TTW.”Making value judgements about other people's emotions, as with this thread, is what's cringey. So pointless!!
They weren't holding hands. I also hope you keep this same energy when Novak calls it quits. He better not shed a single tear about his retirement, or I would expect you to attack him for his emotions as well, especially since he has cried like a baby over losing matches on tour that weren't signaling the end of his career.obvious cringe fest. 2 men don't need to hold hands and cry over someone retiring. For god's sake someone is actually retiring and not dying. all this fakeness for outside media is what makes me to question it. Nadal has no business being there when his wife was expecting a kid anytime. Your sponsorship or tournament obligations is second only after your family. So that was kind of weird too.
