I picked up some 4G Soft 1.25 because it was 50% off. I have not tried a luxilon string before.... lots of Solinco, Tier one etc. I had it strung in my Aero Pro Drive at 46 lbs. Sharing some impressions:

I used it in a USTA 4.0 match last night and still basking in the enjoyable playing experience.

- My arm didn't fall off. It's quite comfortable. It's a pretty stiff string in a stiff racket but about as comfortable as black knight in my gravity (Im 1 session in so time will tell).
- It's very controlled. Confidence inspiring in my shots to swing bigger (but not in the sense that Im over exerting to hit big swings - just confident reliability).
- But it also has pop. I wouldn't describe it as low powered as far as how it shows up in my game. It has quite bit of pop (does "stiff but lively" make sense?). Eg much more pop than Black Knight. There was a minimum threshold of swing speed but I wouldn't see it needs a "fast" swing - more like medium.
- I didn't notice lack of spin. Slice serves were great. I didnt feel the grab as with a shaped string but the reaction of my opponent showed it was spinning.
- Volleys were amazing (indicating no lack of pocketing, which I had expected)
- I have never hit more precise and deadly backhand slices (neutralized and frustrated my lefty nadal-wannabe opponent).
- The sound is awesome, unlike other strings Ive played with.
- This string is more accessible than I was led to believe. You don't have to be a 5.0 to play with this string at all. Id say high 3.5s to low 4.0s might enjoy.
- Combination with APDO was killer. Previous string was Hyper G Soft 1.20 @ 52 lbs. Sure, that had more power but not in a usable way for me.
- This gives me confidence to try 1.25 gauges of regular Hyper-G and Tour Bite.
