i was wrong again....davy proved me wrong...thought jmdp was ready to assume the mantle and be the favorite for oz but now it's wide open

Mad gratz to Davy, great win, biggest title after GS and Olympics..

A pity DelPo was not up to the match, perhaps yesterday's sf took to high a toll on his reserves.

some absolutely brilliant tennis by davy to break. then holds comfortably to claim the title. Very well done !

The brits seemed to have really warmed to Davydenko this week, he has played great all week, especially his serve which noone is talking about really.

I hope he changes his attitude towards Wimby next year because he will have a lot of support there now IMO.

This has been the most widely distributed success year on hard courts I can even remember:

Nadal- Australian Open title, Indian Wells title, U.S Open semis, Shanghai Masters runner up.

Del Potro- U.S Open title, Canada Masters runner up, Year end final runner up

Federer- Australian Open runner up, U.S Open runner up, Cincinnati Masters Champion, Year end final semifinals

Djokovic- Paris Masters Champion, Miami Masters runner up, Cincinnati Masters runner up, U.S Open semifinals

Murray- Canada Masters Champion, Miami Masters Champion, Indian Wells Masters runner up

Davydenko- Shanghai Masters Champion, Year end finals Champion

A lot of that had to do with Kolja,Delpo is a far better match-up for him than Soderling.

His energy level was low though, and he just looked flat. It was dissapointing from him. Not to take anything away from Davydenko though. He definitely played great and deserved to win today.

Rafa won Indian Wells actually, not Murray. :) You meant runner up. But point taken. Hard court field is very deep.

Just looking at his face makes me laugh...

LOOOL ... it's too much for my wife!!! the million dollars

Muhahahahah telling the truth

Likewise! I predicted a straight set victory for Juan MDP. Anyways, happy times for Davydenko's fans, if there are any :)

Wow I thought Davydenko might win today while recognizing he was the underdog, but never thought he would win in straight sets over Del Potro. Not even a tiebreaker to boot.

congrats to davy

Well done mate! The giant killer! One for the hard workers, the guy has worked for this one and really deserves it! He has got to be encouraged to keep going for the next few years. The Duracell Bunny wins!
