Switching to Hyper-G from ALU Power has had a noticeable difference on arm comfort at the cost of loss of feel. I still do the flexbar about 5 days a week but I don't worry about arm problems anymore.
I'm glad to hear that!
However, you did not switch to a really arm friendly string!

so glad to hear your TE journey is finally over; wow that's such great news :) Do you think time finally healed it? Sorry to hear about the nerve pain though :-( yep it's a tough sport on the body. I hope that will heal quickly! My elbow has been good for the past month which I was so happy about.. just had a small set back from doing a fast paced live ball clinic (mostly net play; no serving) for an hour & 1/2.. generally my forearm is just sore.. it's not limited to the elbow where I typically had the tennis elbow so maybe that's a better sign LOL but not sure why it would be sore.. maybe I'll just always be susceptible with more intense play. I've also taken a break from serving the past month so will see when I resume that..
Thank you! Let's say that for now i'm all healed up but who knows in the future.
Yes time away from tennis helped a lot along with some PT once the elbow was on its way to healing. Anything done before it started healing did not work at all in my opinion. The body just need to heal or start healing before doing enything.
I'm glad you are doing good as well and hitting although with some minor discomfort. Remember that new movements repeated for a long time always crease some sort of soreness, which is an indication that you might need to work a bit more on getting that area a little stronger. Hopefully you get to serve again soon.

This is like saying beatings don’t hurt as much anymore because now they are with pine clubs instead of oak clubs. 8-B

Hope you are doing great … my green flexbar traveled with me to the land of wiffle.

How long it took to start healing and to feel better?
Thanks!

It's hard to say, but got the TE at the very beginning of May 2023 and i clearly remember that by March 2024 i hit against the wall although the next day it would feel a little sore. So then i stopped right away and waited one more month and after i hit i could still feel a little something but it was better but still not ready. I stopped again and i waited another months and then it felt much better and started hitting once a weel increasing peace.
Once factor that really told me i was getting better was that when i was shaking hand my elbow would not hurt anymore.

It's not TE which I had 40 yrs ago but torn my Rotator cuff thrice. Not responding this time though.

I had TE and GE on the same arm. Im now totally recovered, back in the gym and the court.

If you have any questions about Thermabands, shock therapy, Ice & heat, support straps etc.... Im your man!

So if you can provide a couple of details, like age, recovery time, how long did you do physio, have you changed gear, technique, etc...

Mine has been over a year too
Yes but you never really took any long break to recover which it not help you in shortening your healing time.
Mine all together I would say it has been 14 months to be fully healed and able to hit at almost 100%

I hope you would be soon too!
Although i have a feeling that this elbow would now always be a little more sensitive and so prone to get re injured. finger crossed.

Yes I do feel like I'll always be susceptible sadly but just hoping I can manage it

I was 53 at the time. I had progressive TE which is muscular so no biggy . The TE on the other hand was not something you could play through as the pain is acute, especially when framing a volley etc.

I was off tennis for about 3 months while I under went recovery. Gear wise I went to a heavier frame, something that soaks up all the vibration and not have it traverse up my arm. My current stick is the Gravity Pro 340 and the Pro Staff 330

Hi all, i hope all of you have healed your TE or at least that it got better.
As for me i think my journey with the TE is over. I played a handful of times, maybe 1.5 hours each while back home, of course on red clay and my elbow did not have any issues of any kinds. I started playing slowly the first few sessions then increased to almost at 80% throwing in some serves too cause people get really competitive back home, they are just not happy practicing, they want to play sets lol
However, now i'm dealing with some nice sciatic nerve pain! It never ends it is just one thing after another
Sorry to hear that there's a new problem. I had sciatic pain, but I read that it comes from tight hamstrings/piriformis pinching the sciatic nerve. I started stretching daily, and it doesn't bother me, unless I'm sitting during long road trips. Favorite stretch is laying flat on my back and pulling my knee to my chest, then slightly across my torso.

I've been pain free in my elbow for a couple of years now. I was even able to hit my ohbh, but I switched to a 2hbh just to be safe. Now playing w/ poly mains, but at ridiculously low tension.
