Their chances are miniscule either way, I wanted a match that will go the distance between 2 players that I enjoy watching, not everything has to be related to Nadal (or Fed for that matter).

I wouldn't say horrible, Tsonga doesn't give you a lot of rhytm even on clay but yeah could have played the big points better (especially at those half a chance moments like 30-30 or deuce).

Until I saw this match thread made, I thought Stan was playing Nadal next . Damn, I hate it when two players who could otherwise go deep meet at an early stage and destroy each other and then the survivor gets to meet the favorite in the next round only to be beaten to pulp :neutral:

Stan had a golden opportunity here. Missed that backhand return, cause Tsonga served and volley'd off a weak serve. Tsonga consolidates though with a nice BH winner.

It never fails, when someone like Stan starts playing a bit consistently well, he will hit a roadblock early in the draw. I think in the current scenario, he is capable of beating anyone but Nadal, so yes, if he was on the other half of the draw, I'd fancy his chances of playing in the final.
