Thx for this great post.

This is very exciting news but I'm really sad that the frame isn't 12 hl and please put them on a scale to see what they really weigh.

9 pts HL, unstrung (I suppose). That would turn out to be around 7 pts with strings. Add and overgrip and it'll be around 8 pts HL.

The big question is, what'd be the SW?

NICE! Thanks for the photos! Even after seeing the photos on Priority one I'm still amazed Wilson really did go for the 'old school' look. Very nice looking.

I've added it to my little 'Pro Staff Family' diagram.
You can compare the specs between the line. (if anyone spots any errors let me know and I'll update the diagram.)

It looks sweet- would it be so wrong to buy one just for for a keepsake and never use it? I know I don't have the game for it but think it would look good on my mantle.

I'm really interested in the swingweight. That for me is the key.
I played with the PS85 for years and years and never really thought about it's weight, same with the n90, but when I switched to the K90 for the first time I noticed the weight. I switched to the AK90 and again weight is not an issue. I'm very much hoping the KS88 is more like the PS85 was - solid but a manageable swingweight.

Like someone else said, I'd probably buy it to put on my wall. Don't know if I can get the most out of my game with an 88 sq inch frame. But, I did use a Diablo Mid (93 sq inches) for a long time recently, so it's not like this kProstaff is that much smaller.

I loved the ProStaff when I was in high school in the 80's but the game was a lot different in some ways.

Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing.

I'll bet you cut the bumper guard off, and you get a totally different frame.

Can't wait to read your guys reviews.

Peter,
The unstrung weights for all the other frames on your chart are off.

I don't know if I'd be able to play with one for long since I'm used to the lower 12 oz. and under racquets, but I'm very tempted to try one. I loved the ncode paintjob, and loved the way it plays. Didn't like the k factors so much, but this KPS 88 looks great! Can't wait to see how it plays.

hey peter, nice chart, but maybe try keeping the balances consistent. the k90 is 12 points HL when unstrung, but 9 points HL when strung. the kps88 is only 9 points HL when unstrung, which should give 6 points HL when strung.

nCode 90: 12.0 oz./12.5 oz., 12 pts HL/9 pts HL

Thanks for these .... but I have a question: how is it that the strung / unstrung weight difference is .5 oz for some and .6 for others ... would it not always be the same?

Update: I've converted the chart to an HTML page for easier editing for me:

Good question which I don't have an answer for. That's just what Wilson has published in the past. I think some of it has to do with rounding of numbers or conversion from grams.

I think you're right about the rounding up of numbers - I think it's from going from grams to oz - gram measurements for racquets are more precise so it's rounded off for oz making it less accurate. For example a 356g racquet's weight is 12.5575oz but it's listed in the specs as 12.6 oz

If I can find the measurements in grams then I'll update the chart with more accurate numbers.

Thanks again for the info.

Who is going to play with the racquet?

It's heavier than the K90,less head light and should have a humangous swingweight.

May be if Federer try this racquet he would say....

"It's too demanding for me.My arm felt tired after the first set.My K90 is more forgiving."
