Hi Guys

If anyone wants a 90 (its actually 93) that is easier to play than some 100s here is a suggestion from the past.

Prince Graphite Pro 90
Hoop Dimensions HORIZONTAL - 9 5/8" VERTICAL - 12 3/8"
String Pattern 14x18

Wilson Six One Team 100
Hoop Dimension HORIZONTAL - 9 1/8" VERTICAL - 13 5/16"
String Pattern 16x20

The string pattern and horizontal dimension make this a very spin friendly frame. This is what the Phantom 93 14x18 is based off....

The Graphite Pro 90 Sweetest Racket I have ever hit or owned.

Another important element of the classic mids were the THIN beam width 17-19mm, which make them super maneuverable.

Not hurting is the box beam cross section which provided the needed feel for topspin shots.

BTW, POG mid would be a better comparison for this test, as its more powerful -- I'd argue that it's THE MOST powerful mid ever made.
(At least more powerful than all gens of Graphene based Prestige Pros or Tour 95s)

The main things is to find a racket that had the weight that can be handled and has an open enough swing pattern. Swing weight QC was practically non existent to if you find one with way too much SW it just won't work.

These rackets we're primarily used with synthetic gut or real gut and using modern polys or hybrids can make a massive difference...

The prince graphite pro 90 was a huge sleeper stick for me .
I grew up in the late 80’s mid to late 90’s college .. I never hit with it once back then. Wish I did cause I’m sure I would of used it and would of won more as a result of the flex / control that it provides . Spin is off the chain . As much if not more than an aero pro without the stiffness .

You were the one who introduced me to this stick a few months ago in one of your posts.

Can you share a few of your favorite string recipes for it?

I wish I could find a 4 3/8 or 4 1/2... Only found 4 5/8s so far and seems bigger than a current day 5/8 at that.

Dude I see em alllllll the time in smaller grips just keep an eye out on the bay ..
string pics are as followed for me IN ORDER of pure FEEL !

1. Prince pro blend . The best of the best strung at 38-41 lbs
2. Isospeed pro 17 42 lbs

next
In order of mass amounts of soft spin crazy strings for the prince graphite pro 90 :
1. Weiss cannon ULTRA CABLE 36 lbs
2. Volkl v square 36 lbs
3. Hyper G 19 gauge ( even at this gauge the 2 above are far superior
38 lbs

The grip sizes don't seem to be marked with Pro 90s. Maybe it was just stickers that feel off over the years? Even the made in TAIWAN marking is a removable sticker below butt of grip.

The Pro-Blend Kevlar scares me. But this racket is so so soft and the tension you recommend is really low as well. Will this combo basically last forever? How would you even know it was dead? I guess the Syngut will eventually be sawed out by the Kevlar.

I played with a guy 2 weeks ago with a 16x15 Wilson Pro 95S with an 18mm beam and he had off the chart spin with a Kevlar Hybrid. Felt amazing. Closest thing in my collection is the Graphite Pro 90 14x18.

Yep ! You got it exactly.
The kevlar scares us all . For the laymen ( like I used to be)
Kevlar is old as the hills and no one ever uses This crap cause it’s crap .
However kevlar once is broken in at lower tensions will ( trust me)
Feel more like cotton than metal . One aramid / kevlar “ break in “
The fibers open up to create a looser matrix .think of it as spiral or bundle of nerves loosening up once it’s open it’s not as “strong “ in this case it’s not as firm . The pattern on the prince 90 is so open you will still get plenty of spin . As kevlar is known for creating a flatter ball response and it’s true , it totally does..
But by god if you don’t absolutely love it strung up loose with kevlar I’ll send you a free pack of test strings ! I’m dead serious here .. but ya gotta break it in first ! Let us know bro !

I'm all in. Approx how long is break in for you? I probably don't hit the ball as hard so I will need a little longer.

I regularly use a Prince OG 93. Hits just fine.
93 vs 100 is negligible, it's like one main, which means a shank either way if you that off center

For older and similar on the wilson side, the light tour 95's from the mid 2000's which seemed to originally be an offshoot of the hyper hammer series.
Such as the ncode ntour, ntour two, k-tour 95, tour 95 blx. All 16 x 20, closer to head weight even but still light, and 27.25in length, so 1/4in extended. Also good and comfortable for shorter players.

It's a good experiment for everyone to try. Place an MP racket over an OS and realize there isn't a huge difference.

I did this yesterday with a PT2.0 (95) and a Youtek Radical Pro (100). The only difference was a little more stringbed down by the throat of the Radical. Zero visible difference in actual usable hitting area.
