A fake Wilson Six one team BLX?

I recently purchased a wilson six one blx team and realized that when i got it, the headsize looked very very slightly bigger. Is this normal? I measured the distance with a ruler from the center and found the difference by .2 or .3 cm off. Does that mean mine is fake or just a small production error, or...? The paint, handle, etc look the same compared to my older blx so im confused. Someone plz help! Thanks!

Dont know about anyone else, but to tell I am gonna need much more close-up and higher quality photos.

did you wrap the grip for the racquet on the right? if you didn't its a definite fake. the bottom handle looks fake imo. the center piece being squished isnt a good sign.

yes i regripped it and put lead tape on it. I'll try to post higher quality pics later

oh and i think the reason why its so squished was i gripped it really tight for some reason so it looks squished after the buttcap end of the handle

i was going to point out that 6.1 comes with pro hybrid and when you buy it, the stock finishing tape doesnt say wilson on it. the bottom handle does look fake though.

sidenote: how do you like the grip?

yea well i replaced it and do you mean inside or outside the handle? The handle material is the same as my real blx i bought from tw... it just looks different cuz i gripped it to tight and theres lead tape around it. The only thing that made me think it was fake was the fact that the head size looks very very very slightly bigger...

side note: the white pro hybrid grip feels pretty good so i use it.

Here are some updated pics, can anyone help me determine if its fake? I measured it when i got it and it weighed in 10.795 which is really close to what its supposed to be (10.8). Note that i did regrip both racquets.

The one on the left is the one im questioning is fake...

The slightly bigger head could be due to improper mounting while stringing. The handle looks right. Does it play the same as the older one? Feel the same? etc etc.

Well its pretty similar in terms of hitting, but I also realized that the balance seems slightly different too, but i havent got a chance to balance it since i dont have a balance beam scale.

I'm most sure it is fake.
The gold Wilson logo in the top right corner is a dead giveaway.
And I know Wilson's QC is not up to scratch, But Head Size should not be a QC stuff-up.

imo its fake

i dont think improper mounting can change the head size so drastically that it looks like a completely different racket

Compare the weight and balance. I've never seen a fake with similar specs to it's real counterpart.

The angle of angle/placement of the logo is skewed because of the way the pic was taken.

And yes improper mounting can change the shape of the hoop. You could cut the strings out of both frames to see what they look like. You might want to do that anyways to get an accurate weight and balance.

I did check the balance and the head is heavier. Although as i look at the pics i took, i think i positioned the camera wrong because they look exactly the same as i compare them now paint job wise and weight wise, just not the balance.

believe it or not, i've had authentic wilson rackets where the inside of the handle was not perfectly symmetric like yours, so that's not quite the best indicator for whether it's real or not.

also, how much difference is there in the balance?

They almost look identical in the pictures, and the difference of 1 or 2 mm is probably acceptable for their manufacturing plants. I think you are just making yourself paranoid thinking about it. If it feels good to play with, just go with it.

If the only thing that makes you question the rackets legitimacy is the headsize being ever so slightly larger, keep in mind that stringing rackets warps the headsize. Even if both rackets are strung with the same string and tension, that does not mean they will be identical in size.

Well the headsize is not necessarily the problem but the balance... I checked the balance and it seemed a centimeter off heavier than my real one till I added lead to match them.

could just be QC. 1cm is about a 3pt difference in balance...i've seen worse. the only way to tell without sending them to Wilson would be to weigh them and play with them.

Initially i did weight it when i first received it and it weight 10.795 which is pretty close to what its supposed to be. It just kinda makes me wonder whats up with the balance. Also is Wilson's QC bad or something?

Yes. I've seen the balance point as far off as 5 pts between the same model.
