A must try strings

Well hello there!
I am on the hunt for new string and I rly want to try buch to determine my next go to string.
Who am I? I would rate myself as 4.0 player with heavy groundstrokes and Andrey Rublev style play (hitting at maximum power on every shot). Heavy topspin forehand and mediocre backhand. Good serve but I need some help from string in this area. Net is my enemy :). I am playing with Babolat Pure Aero 2019 with 2 grams of lead at 12 oclock.
What I´ve tried so far: MSV Focus Hex 1.23 in white (my go to string atm), Wilson Revolve Spin (didn´t like it), Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour (excellent control and good spin, but too dead and uncomfy), Head Lynx (overall good string but tension maintenance is a joke), Pros pro cyber power 1.20 (too stiff) and now RPM Blast (too dead and muted, spin was superb for first fex hours, than massive drop)
Next strings to try: I have Volkl Cyclone, Tecnifibre Black Code and Weiss Cannon Fire Stroke in my drawer

Strings I want to try: MSV Focus HEX Ultra (I like the original but it lacks somewhat in spin, this version should be better), Tourna Silver 7 Tour, Grapplesnake CES Neon Dust/Liq, Grapplesnake Tour Sniper, Grapplesnake Cube, Solinco Tour Bite 1.20, RS Lyon 1.25, OEHMS Black Pearl Rough

Do you have any other ideas or some feedback on strings I´ve mentioned?
Thanks everyone!

For your game I think you will like Fire Stroke, and also fits well with BPA, which is a stiffer frame. Any reason why you leaded 12 oclock? Is your hitting spot more on the upper part of the oval?

I like more head heavy balance point and it gives me a tad more power. That is pretty much it + I wrap handle with overgrip.

Kirschbaum max power? Isospeed cream? Luxilon 4g/Alu power? Alu power loses the life quickly, but 4g retains tension better.

You have to consider gauge of string along with your racquets pattern. You are playing a PA which is a very open pattern. You need the larger gauge for better control and overall better precision
True but I can manage with 1.25 and 1.23 mm gauge just fine. I can´t say that I paint the lines all the time, but I never felt that I need some extra control. What i did found out is that I need more of a ball pocketing feel to better direct my shots.
This became so apparent on my RPM Blast testing. I strung it at 25/24 Kg but found out that it performed best at about 3 to 6 hours of play when tension dropped and I sensed more of a direct feel and ball pocketing and therefore more control. At 7 hour mark the string went dead and I will propably break it in next session.

I´ve read that Confidential is quite a dead feeling poly with average spin and very good control. Somewhere on the road between TB and HyperG. Is it true ?

I would not describe it as dead but it has good control and has a good linear response. I think it has very good spin but does not have the bite of a hyper-g but also not muted like hyper-g. Feedback is quite good and it still manages a comfortable response. I’ve read those remarks as well and don’t think it is some 1/2 between them. It might be closer to TB with better feel but certainly does not remind of hyper-g. Very good string with decent longevity as well

Max power seems kinda pointless. I have RS lyon in shopping cart and it should perform somewhat similar to Max power with less crisp of a feel.
Isospeed cream. I will check that out! Thanks
Luxilon is a no no. It is so good when fresh but goes dead so quckly. My friend uses lux and we swapped racquets for about 30 minutes. Best feel ever. But the price is just too much and in order to have that same feel i would go through a reel in matter of months. Like I said, too expensive for a "poor" student.

Try Blast Rough. Softer than regular Blast and more grab on the ball. Won't last much longer though. The PA is a string eater....or else ,Hyper G.

MSV Focus Hex Ultra, Kirschbaum Black Shark, good old Signum pro poly plasma (or plasma hex if you want a shaped poly)

Another vote Volk Cyclone Tour 1.30mm. 8 years of using it and now string for a dozen 4.5C & 5.0C men who use it. Been writing about and suggesting VCT 1.30mm since 2013

Once test set is back on sale, I will surely try it!
Weiss cannon silver string 1.2 is worth a try.
No point. RS lyon already in basket and it should be better in almost every way.
Head Hawk 17g at 48lbs
I know, this string is good in hybrid, but as a full bed? Idk, do you use it like that?
volkl cyclone tour 16g is very comfortable, good spin with amazing ball pocketing sensation

Too expensive and too short life span for me :(

Focus Hex Ultra already in my basket. Black Shark has bad tension maintenance so I will propably skip this one. I might try poly plasma.

I have Luxilon 4G in 4 Prince Warriors right now and I love it. Wilson Sensation 16 for the crosses.

After this, I scored some Kirschbaum Pro Line II on sale from TW that I'll give a try. I have a similar game to you, I go for it a lot.

I pair the KB black shark mains always with KB pro line II crosses. That combination has a lot of satisfied customers, some never want something else.

Any recommendations on tension? I recently got the anthracite vct 1.3 strung at 50/48 and it feels a little wiry and little too much pop. My usual poly tension is 48/46. Also is there a noticeable difference between the red and anthracite vct?

@OP not sure how 1.23 strings last more than 30 minutes in the pa19 if you’ve got a ‘heavy game’. Anyway, I would suggest poly tour pro 1.25/1.3. Tbh, i prefer it to rs Lyon. Hyper g 1.3 also another good candidate, beats tour bite imo if you don’t go to the net and need more oomph on serve. If you’re truly on a budget go isospeed baseline 1.3, it’s pretty decent and if you break strings in less than 4-5 hours you won’t notice a dip in performance much. I wouldn’t go any thinner than 1.3 on any strings given the pa19 has a super open pattern and chews through strings like no tomorrow. Good luck!

@landcookie I dont have strokes to snap strings too often. Normally I cut them out at about 10 hour mark when they start to feel dead.
Like I said, I am (in my mind) 4.0 player with heavy strokes at my level. But everything is work in progress cause I started playing like a year ago.
To make things clear, this is how I play:

Search the strings for 5.0 players thread. I list frames and tension for each of those players.

Stringing right now so don't have time to look for the thread

Thanks for the vid. Try hyper g. It’ll give you more action on the ball but also more power and higher launch angle. If you’re not adverse to trying 1.3g,it might be a good fit to tame that extra power. I personally don’t like hyper g 125.

I played with almost all of these - all quite different, if I had to pick 2 different ones right now that stand out, I would go for S7T and Tour Sniper. S7T is a stiff, shaped string with great spin and fantastic durability. In terms of value hard to beat. Tour Sniper is in the same category as RS Lyon, in terms of feel it doesn't get much better for a poly IMO. Plays softer, like a round string yet has more than enough spin potential.

Nice, found it thanks. Very helpful. Might need to bump up tension and see how it plays.

How does this hybrid play please?

It's a bit the best of both worlds: spinny, fairly powerful, yet comfortable and controllable. Durability on the black shark mains is ok for most, but some go through them quite quickly (1.25 diameter). I urge my clients to try new stuff, but many of them always come back to this combination. In a typical 16*19 100 inch frame around 23k.

I have tried several of the Focus Hex varieties and found them completely forgettable, but YMMV of course.

Must try strings in my opinion are KB Max Power, RS Lyon and Signum X-Perience.

I would try the thinner gauges since you are cutting out at 10 hours - you can get so much more comfort and feel. These were some standouts for me recently.
Poly Tour Pro 17 or 18 - springy, snappy, softish, powerful feel
Hyper G 17 - Launchy, gummy (in a good way), pocketing
Confidential 18 - wirey, accurate, low launch

Genesis Black Magic 17, took a bit to get used to from the baseline but once you get used to it plays great and has very good feel for a poly.

There's much to recommend Völkl Cyclone (black) in 16g or 17g. It holds tension well for a poly, has excellent spin potential, is fairly dead so would pair well with your racquet and it is very cost-effective at $9 a set.

So I tried Cyclone 1.25 for about 5 hours and so far so good. Better match for my game than RPM Blast.
It is not stiff, not crisp, but it has much better feel than Blast. Control is above average and I would say so is spin. Tension is dropping in "predictable" way and it started notching at around 3-4 hour mark which is quite good. Oh, and also it is so cheap in here. 65 € per reel here in Czechia with TAX.

I will give it another 5 hours before cutting it out. Next on the list is my first square shaped string - Weiss Cannon Fire Stroke.

@graycrait Sadly not. I was thinkink about it but I decided that I don´t need it. I play about 2-3 hours per week so one stringjob lasts me about a month. Cost of one stringjob is about 5,5 € here and most affordable stringing machine is about 300 €.
