The guy is going to break all the records.
He is a prodigy and there is no competition that can stop him.
In a decade or a little more, if he remains motivated and avoids major injuries, Djokovic's record of 24 Major titles could be surpassed.

He can easily get to 12, but it's a long road to 24. Fed's injuries started to kick in around age 29. Nadal's injuries kicked in much younger missing wimbledon at age 23. Novak's only real injury blip started in 2016 with his elbow age 29.

Crazy that he's only 22. I was just trying to finish my undergrad at 22. Think about what you accomplished at 22.

Not beyond the realms of possibility he gets 10 FO's. As he matures and gets more selective with his shot selection at the right times, over 5 sets on clay he could be pretty unstoppable looking at the current field. I am certain he breaks the record at USO as well. To me his only road block from breaking every record going outside of the FO is Sinner at W and AO, but given he is two youngers and the last 3 out of 4 slams, it does seem he maybe pulling away from Sinner.

Now we can see why Rafa said its not worth being obsessed about records. He knew what was coming obviously.

You are right mate. That match was significant. As you said Alcaraz favourite to end up the greatest ever and pass all the big 3. If he stays fit he will do it. Getting slam record and a calendar slam too.

He can catch Novak’s records at French, is open and maybe Wimbledon too.

He is only 15 behind Rafa already and 13 behind Roger. 2 a year means he could pass both by the time he is 30 and with only Sinner remotely a rival i think thats almost certain given he is motivated to get the record as he has said. He could actually break the slam record even earlier as i would think there may be a Calender Slam at some point (i.e this year) and a few 3 slam seasons.

He is easily the most complete player we have ever seen, nobody has ever been as accomplished on each surface. That makes the Slam record actually now very attainable given he is only 22 and already on 7.

Wishful thinking! I don’t buy that it’s just Alcaraz and Sinner for the next 8 years. Tennis never works that way. New rivals always emerge, injuries happen, form fluctuates etc.

That first point Carlos played against Novak in the final game of AO26 was so, so good. I think it was a 24-shot rally? Took his legs then took his soul. A patient Carlos is maybe the most dangerous Carlos of all.

I hope Novak keeps playing. He and Jannik are the only ones who are keeping it interesting, Old Man and the Ginger.

Nadal only ever held the Open Era record. The youngest [man] in history was Don Budge, who was two days shy of his 23rd birthday when he won the 1938 French Championships to complete his set.

Carlitos broke a record that had stood for 87 years, 7 months, and 21 days, not 15 years.

There is no one near their level though. Not even close. It all depends if anyone special comes after them. The current field isn’t doing anything.

Well i follow junior tennis, apart from Ivanov there isnt much coming through tbh, so if there is a 14 or 15 year old ATG in the making by the time they are challenging Alcaraz may have already got most records!

I know their h2h is 2-0 for Sinner and Sinner has shown to be good on grass but I think Alcaraz's variety will be too much ti handle for Sinnee. in 2022 he was too young (19 yo) and in 2025 he just dipped a bit (almost lost in first round and got troubled against fritz in SF, almost forcing a fifth set). Maybe I will be wrong but I think Alcaraz will turn their h2h on grass.

Problem is, Alcaraz was telling his team during that match, “he’s just better than me from the baseline” which is why he was trying all those drop shots.

Wimbledon is good for Sinner bc the bounce keeps the ball in his strike zone, and Alcaraz has struggled to cover/grip the court effectively while chasing Sinner’s shots.

I think Sinner has slipped noticeably from his ‘24-25 peak, so I would love it if you were right about this

I remember those words from Carlos, but the thing is Carlos was not at his best while Jannik was, same situation at the USO a few weeks later where Jannik was not at his best but Carlos was. It was not like RG where both were playing an incredible match. Only time will tell if I am right or wrong.

And even when Carlos was struggling and doing idiotic drop shots, he still looked like he was about to turn the match around. That wasn’t as safe a win for Sinner as his fans wanted to believe

I was there at W of their fiest encounter and one thing that was noticeable was Sinner's flat hitting and sheer weight of shot when it skiided through on the grass bothered Alcaraz, and he did say to JCF last year during the match he couldnt cope so until he finds a way to neutralise Sinner's power on grass id make Sinner favourite, but itake your point that Alcaraz has so much variety and talent he probably does solve the puzzle.
 
Hopefully, Alcaraz can keep this going. He’s certainly making his mark by breaking records set by youngsters. But the future is never guaranteed. Also, I’m not going to write off Sinner yet; simply because he’s had a 6-week slump. I have a feeling that he will come back even stronger.
