After the Tsitsipas-Nadal match, I was having a convo with someone in a chat who says they can't think of any actual Tsitsipas fans on the forum, and I'd actually have to agree with that. On a forum full of fans of all sorts of players (though mostly the same three), I can't name a single Tsitsipas fan who isn't a fan of another player more. I can name Medvedev fans, I can name Thiem fans, and I can even name a couple of Rublev fans, but not Tsitsipas fans. You can prove me wrong, though.

That's why I'm putting together this poll. I just wanna get a feel for how many solitary fans each of the younger guys have. I'm not talking about guys who like them but like other players more. I'm talking about actual TTW posters who like them more than any other player (or tied with another, I guess). If you like any of the Big 3 (or any older player) more than these players, don't vote in the poll. Fed fans who also like Thiem such as myself can't vote here, for example.

BTW Thiem and Kyrgios are in this list because they're younger players (relatively speaking, of course) and they have rather sizable fanbases, I've observed.

Obviously, if you support other younger players like Hurkacz, Korda, or Ruud over these guys, vote the "Other" option and specify in a reply below.

EDIT: No one actually listened to the OP so you can just ignore the bolded bit lol

I’ve been hinting for a while now that it’s going to be either Tsitsipas or Sinner for me. It’s kinda hard though to be fully committed when your main guy is still playing (albeit part-time). We’ll see...

1) Thiem
2) Rublev

I appreciate Tsitsipas and Shapovalov when they play well too but I am not supporting them and I am not involved emotionally when watching them

And if Thiem and Rublev face each other I will be rooting for Thiem instinctively, because I root for him since a longer time and he's just my fav player to watch by quite a large margin

I wonder if the same guys who think Federer’s prime ended at the age of 27 are voting for Thiem being part of the ‘Young player’ nextgen crowd - the guy is 27 already and shouldn’t be on the list.

I probably shouldn’t vote as I am a huge Big 3 fan, but Sinner is probably the guy I feel like supporting once the GOAT debate ends with the retirement of the Big 3.

I haven't had a true favorite since Lendl, but since I've followed pro tennis closely even there after, Stan became slowly my new number one, even though I've never literally cried after him losing, which happened many times with Ivan. I could have taken a bullet for him, already at the age of ten. Lately I've been thinking if I possibly could fall for some of these new gen youngsters, as Stans retirement is soon imminent, but no. Out of the blue came Karatsev and I'm totally strung out over him now. I really respect the big three but none of them has ever evoked any bigger feelings and emotions worth mentioning in me.

Since you're taking Thiem with a '93 birthday, I will vote other for Thiago Monteiro, born 1994, the Brazilian bombshell.

Kinda figured that considering you have Dominic as the first name in your username (y)

Btw, @Third Serve, answering your question: if we imagine a scenario where Nadal and Djokovic withdraw from a Slam and QFists are Medvedev, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev, Rublev, Shapovalov, Sinner, Aliassime, then I lean towards camp Zverev and will also root for whoever is against Aliassime.

For me it's Thiem. I find Tsitsipas' game very entertaining, but I find it hard to root for the guy. Shapovalov and for sure Schwarzman are up there as well.

Karats. Doesn’t get much more fresher and nextgen than the one true Ghost of Agassi. The man who giveth and then taketh away all the breakpoints, including his own, sent from the 90s to end this horrifying era and show all the midgets in the thread how it’s done.

@Notorious_Junkballer I also cried many times when Ivan lost, I worshiped him. When you're a little kid, things are felt more intensely. Pat Cash at Wimbledon was the worst loss ever! But didn't you cry from joy at this moment?

My moments of utter joy and nightmares began two years later, at Wimbledon, against Becker. Four years later, after the SF against Edberg, I gave up the hope for good. That's when I cried the last time. The bigger Mizuno only made things worse in the end. Or at least it couldn't turn the tide in any way.

Probably Zverev after Nole. Like his character from what I've seen. (y)
