Because I am suddenly a Nostalgic, Fed agenda driven guy who makes this forum unreadable.
Let's start shall we?
This is 2012 Nadal vs Djokovic. Look at that FH and that command from the baseline.Look at his feets. If you don't see a difference to current Nadal in the first point itself then you are blind.
This is 2013 RG SF, Nadal had 22 winners in 5thn set, his FH went to a level that is beyond anyone I have seen.
This is Nadal in 2007 final , he refused to get broken here. Look at him wrestling rally control away from Federer on a dime
This is 2008 Nadal against Verdasco, look at his speed, his depth and his defence.
Then there is 2010 F, If you actually watch it you notice how dangerously Nadal's FH is bouncing off the court AND he has depth too. It's near impossible for Soderling to hit through him, it's nigh impossible to maintain his court position due to Nadal's FH. He is taking big swings, but half the ball are at his head level.
(TTW not letting me link it for exceeding 5 media links)
I can keep posting these. But the point is, those who keep claiming that Today's tennis is better actually go back to watch ? Or had they watched live in the first place?
I started to watch tennis on youtube first. From the time I didn't know any rule of tennis, just to learn the sport. I still do that. Yet something that I watched just today becomes my nostalgia and I become agenda driven.
