A very heavy racquet

So I recently bought 2 prince thunder 970 long body racquets and them being light and me liking a heavy racquet, I added a bunch of weight to the handle of both of them and forgot to check what the final weight was. I tried them out and I thought they were ok but not great. A few weeks later I got some diadem Solstice power string and put it in the racket and at first it felt low-powered but when the string settled in it played like a dream. I was able to swing big on every shot and get tons of power, spin, and stability. After using it again for a couple days I finally checked what the weight was and it 16.6 oz. I was in shock because it did not play like a racket that ways that heavy, mostly because all the weight is in the handle. Has anyone else used a racket that weighed over 16 oz?

How much weight did you add to the handle? Who has 60g of lead tape hanging around?
The racket weighed about 270 g when I got it and so what I did was I took all the grips off plus the replacement grip and wrapped two overgrips around the buck cap and then one over grip around the whole handle because I like a thick butt cap. I then opened the trap door and some of these older rackets have a very hollow handle and so I filled it with a mix of blue tack and silicone which brought it up to the 470 g

I think mine was at 16.2 or 16.4 so good on you beating me.
But a ton of weight on the handle is one thing. A 14oz stick can be harder to wield if the weight is added to the head. Can you figure out the sw of the racquet??

So now your racket is what 50 points HL? It's like swinging a ball peen hammer from the ball peen side.

I think I prefer my rackets a little more evenly balanced.

That ain’t gonna hold unless you wrap it with cross rings of gorilla.
Holding all these years. Key is to press the strips hard against each other then the bottom on gets pressed hard onto the racquet. Stopped doing cross rings because of the pita nature of restringing and not needing to

But you don’t play in cold damp PNW conditions that pop lead tape adhesive off like it’s a ripe raspberry.

How much do you increase string tension after adding so much weight? Still have a Head Prestige Classic with the hoop covered with lead tape to be hidden by the CAP grommet. Awweighting NG

My machine maxes out at 86 lbs...
Same here. Recall a player who claimed his PS 6.0 110 were strung at 98#. Had the highest ping of any racquet IMHO. Like glass breaking. We all suspect since he dropped his racquets off to be strung, no stringer would string so taut. Do you wear protectiion while stringing?

Yeah its a rare stringer who would do it that high. I just have my reg glasses. No issues outside of a couple of times when strings broke. I dont look away on the first pull anymore...

I can try, but I am not the best at the Do-It-Yourself Swingweight that TWU put out. Any tips for that?

Yeah, with the prince one I can get a good topspin backhand but with the gamma it is more of a flat block or a slice cause it is a lotta of racquet to swing
Know two players that used the snow shoes. Like facing a tidal wave. Noticed both switched back to smaller head racquets
