A World Cup match and a Wimbledon match were at the same time, one you will watch?

Which one will you watch?

WC match.... it only happens every four year, I can watch Wimbledon every year, there are 2-3 WC matches a day, there are much more than that on Wimby on the first week....,

it would be more interesting to ask:

what would you watch, a Nadal-Federer Wimbledon Final, or a
Spain-Brazil Final?

Id still go with the WC final, but definitely tape the Wimby final ;)

if the wc match was north Korea versus Cote d'Ivoire and the Wimby match was Federer-Nadal or Federer-Murray I would probably watch tennis.

I can also watch both at the same time especially if the football match gets boring

Would it be correct to say that most in Europe would watch the World Cup in this situation?

What about UK? Would regional pride triumph? What if Murray was making it to the deeper rounds?

LOL from the results of this poll, people should stop complaining about tennis coverage on TV. Sounds like most of us prefer soccer to tennis. We get what we deserve.

Kickyball boring? Oh, the humanity! When the guys fall down like they got shot by a deer rifle, riveting! (NHL Hockey solved its flopping problem a long time ago).

Actually the EPL when teams are trying to score is good sport. And watching Messi (wee little mon!) make defenders trip themselves and fall down, is fun.

If Federer is steamrolling some guy, the WC match. If Fed is in a tight match, the WC can f@k itself.

Well, knowing ESPN, they will for sure show a Serena/Venus/Sharapova/Roddick steamroll over a close, interesting match deep into the 5th. And let's not even mention the 3-hour blackout NBC imposes on us West Coasters. So I have to vote for the WC.

As far as I'm concerned, there's no national pride in an individual sport. Professional players are present in tournaments such as Wimbledon because they're the best in the world at what they do, regardless of nationality. They represent themselves, not their country. As such, I will support and cheer for anyone whose playing style I enjoy and who has an element of charisma.

The World Cup is a different kettle of fish. Nations enter and are pitted each other, with the best players from each country selected for the team. This is something I can become patriotic about: whilst I will enjoy watching and respect any team who plays attractive football, I will always support my own country, no matter how badly they may be playing.

the wc!!! it only happens once every four years. i can always check scores and if there seems to be a particularly exciting tennis match going on, switch over for a few.

actually, come to think of it i'm not going to have much of a choice after the 1st week of wimby. for the 2nd week of wimbledon and the end of the WC i'll be in colombia; i don't think i will have many chances to watch a wimbledon match when the WC is going on over there . . . this is purely speculation, of course.

but for the first week i'll do as the first paragraph says. ;)

Wimbledon final > World cup final. If England are playing, and it's a Nadal 1st round match on at Wimbledon, I might watch the football.
