ABNG or Next gen: Starting tomorrow with Djoker

So a lot has happened in the tennis world over the past few years. Most tennis fans (not all) have one or two big3 that they back. They also usually dislike one or two of them. We have had some dramatic and intense fan wars over it.

However, how many have accepted the truth, that there is no young great tennis players, and no ATG's in sight? It is only getting uglier the more that we see these young "talented" next genners.

There is two ways to go. Keep your fandom war over the big3 and fight for your guy to the end. Or... just maybe, maybe, we come together and root for ABNG.

Anybody But Next Gen.

I began actively watching tennis in 03 and was a huge Fed fan. Then over time I started to like Rafa, and that like grew to love. Djoker has been a sense of passion for me... in not such a good way. However, I have accepted that I am fine with whatever big3 wins the TIGER debate. I have let go.

How was I able to not care if Fed ends third?

Because I choose great tennis over lackluster and average tennis with multiple skills. Time for us to relish in ALL of the big 3 or big 2 or even big 1 if that is how you see it these days.

We are family now with all we have been through, time to accept that, even the weird uncles like @Beckerserve and embrace each other as us against the world.

I dont want to live in a world where Zverev, Tsits, Med, Rublev, and Berr are in the top 5 and win slams like USO20.

Time for Djoker to take it to that kid Tstis tomorrow.

Look at the WTA right now and that's what the mens game would look like without the big 3. Anyone from the top 50 could win a slam and the quality of tennis would be quite poor. We had a glimpse of what it would be like at the US Open in 2020.

Djokovic must save tennis. He is our only hope right now, because Federer is too old/injured and Nadal is gassed after 2-3 sets these days.

Yep. We can ride the big3 for a bit longer, even if Djoker is the one carrying the load.

Actually completely disagree with the above.

the NextGen has the exact same competition issues this era had. They have “Mug 3” rather than Big 3. Same issue where 3 players are by far and a way the best and will likely be favored over all challengers in every major to come after Djokodal decline.

Medvedev, Tsitsipas, and Zverev have all been top 6 ish in the world since 2018-19. They are all tall, strong servers, great movers for their height, and possess power off both wings. Most importantly they are consistently successful and rarely lose in majors except to themselves or Djokodal.

My worry for the NextGen isn’t wide open WTA style, it’s just a new Big 3 who are just far inferior versions of the real Big 3, but pose the same dominance issues.

Yep. If Djokovic wins tomorrow i want him to win CYGS.

Better for Nadal if Djokovic wins. Likely pushes him to get another Major even though he is washed up. He is mentally tougher than Djokovic in big Major finals so longer Next Gen locked out the better.
Sadly for Federer it seems he is now considered 3rd of all time. Yesterdays match media wise and in locker room seems to have elevated Nadal and Djokovic to a new plane. No idea why but it has looking at press reports.
Also Jelena was not booing Nadal she was saying bravo so even that excuse has gone for me.
Tsitsipas is too woke for me. Cries in public. Has long hair. Represents the softness that is all wromg with young people. Praying for a Djokovic win. Plus he is anti vax and his team dont bother with masks as they think we have a spamdemic. So definitely now warming to Novak.
 
If Djokovic wins I’m joining Nole Fam and leaving the Sinner train for a few years. If City Bus wins then the changing of the guard happens. However it’s like 80/20 for Djokovic. But eventually we will all join the next gen, as they will soon be the only thing to watch.

Yep, hope Rafa plays WC and can do something there, however, for big 3 fans, especially Djoker and Rafa is that the next gen keep doing next gen stuff so they can bolster their resume for a couple more years.

That said, Fed is not done at WC, Halle will be interesting.

Federer needs to win Halle to get that aura going again
 
You're a terrible human being OP. I'm about halfway through the replay of the Zod-Siss SF, where Zod is winning the longer rallies. That should say it all, but I'll say more: Siss is getting by, as he has done most of his career grinding away on clay, largely on B-grade aggression eliciting UEs.

There's damn good reasons why clay is Sissy's best surface and why he has sucked on other surfaces: his aggression is mediocre. So here I am thunderously in agreement. Siss is one awfully big false dawn about to be exposed.

Fed and Ferr are my preferred 30+yo horses but I have to stay true to my love for quality aggressive and/or potential-maximising-clutch tennis, and Novak is still producing more of that than any nexgen. His comical displays at net and the djokosmash are probably his only endearing features beyond his hatred of moonballs.

By far the worst part about Zod is that he looks like he's thinking, working his way through his options and trying, which as we know couldn't be further from the truth. We need a gif of Zod telling the chair to get him an ice towel instead of this s**t (some cold pack).
