There are no host sites scheduled yet-dont know how many ADs will approve their tennis coaches to host a new event on site in the midst of a pandemic. These events would be smaller than the typical ITA fall tourney. Maybe these are supposed to replace the 100s of tourneys held at different college sites each fall. However, hosting juniors who are minors does not sound like the best idea-at least most college athletes-with the exception of a few 17y/o's are adults-seems like that would add on liability, and it would just be easier to do smaller regional versions of the usual fall college tourneys.
I know some who read this board are ITA refs. Have any of you been approached about working for ITA events this fall?
The rumor is all the championships for fall nonrevenue sports for D2 and D3 will be cancelled soon by NCAA with D1 undecided, and if NCAA cancels fall nonrevenue sports championships that P5 may hold their own championships to justify football. NCAA is supposed to make some decision on fall sports today. Sports like tennis whose championship season is spring will be low priority this fall. Per the articles below, NCAA does not have power to cancel seasons, but only championships. Conferences can cancel or postpone seasons for each sport.

All of this speculation may be moot in a week's time if football is cancelled or postponed to spring-then all the other sports will lose their fall season. Since tennis is low priority for fall, students may not even yet have a start date for practice even if they are allowed to return to campus. Return to play starts with training and conditioning then practice with delayed or cancelled fall competition already decided for many conferences. Feel sorry for the guys who took a 5th year if they really wanted to play-now if they leveraged their 5th year to pay for a year towards their MBA when jobs are scarce for grads, then they may be the lucky ones....
- Fall competition in the sports of men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, rowing, men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball and baseball has been canceled (fall sports will have competition/championships)
- Student-athletes in golf and tennis continue to be eligible to compete unattached (e.g.this means athletes can pay their own way to fall Futures/Challengers if they are held)
- Teams in all sports may continue practice at their institution’s discretion

NCAA board of governors could cancel conference championships
The NCAA, which seemingly has the power to count the number of Corn Flakes in a college football player's cereal bowl, inexplicably has no authority to cancel the season or otherwise protect the players amid a pandemic.
