I am experiencing sudden sharp pain on the inside of my ankle, near the achilles tendon. It feels like a severe bee sting when it happens. It does not occur when playing tennis or running. It seems to happen when I point my foot down while sitting or laying down. No swelling. No constant dull pain or soreness.

I play tennis on hard courts about once a week and jog about once a week.

Has anyone experienced this or something similar. Have not been able to find any info on this. One doctor said it could be consistent with an achilles injury. Another siad it does not appear realted to the achilles.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had plantar fascitis and the feeling was like I was stepping on a nail in my heel when I walked (or tried to walk)...
