I want to add stability to the hoop of the racquet by adding 3 inches of lead tape centered at 3 & 9 o’clock.
My question: would there be any difference in using say Babolat tape (one inch = 1 gm) as opposed to using Gamma tape that is half the weight and would require double the length of Babolat to achieve the same weight.
It is clear that the Babolat tape would have more mass at 3 & 9 but the Gamma would have its mass spread over a length of 6 inches.
Obviously, I will need to experiment in order to satisfy myself – however I would be interested to know from anyone who has already experimented with the above scenarios to comment on which appears to be the best option – static weight and balance point would remain the same with either method.
Thanks in advance………..Norm
