Adding Weight to Cat V1

I'm curious as to how others may have customized a Cat V1. I am a 4.5 all court player with OHBH.

I'm giving the Cat V1 and the Ki5 a long demo to see if the weight of my beloved PC 600, and the precision and effort required to hit it well, are what is aggravating a chronic shoulder nerve problem. The added pop, maneuverability and soft feel of the Cat V1 sure make playing easier -- the jury is still out on whether it makes my play better.

Any idea as to effect on swingweight and balance if one added a total of 12 grams of lead at 3+9 to a Cat V1 which with overgrip and vib dampener is 11.1 oz. Stock Cat V1 is 10.8 oz, 4 pts headlight, with swingweight of 310, according to TW. Is there a formula one could use to determine the effect of adding weight above or below the balance pt of a frame?

Appreciate any help.

I just started using the Cat V1 mp due to some shoulder problems as well. I was going to add some weight but since it is so different in feel to my last racquet, a Babolat aero tour pro limited, I think its best to play with it for a while before changing it. If you add 12 grams at 3 and 9 you will change to a head heavy balance and raise the swingweight (not sure how much). If you want to add weight without changing balance then add the same amount inside the handle. It may be best to add it gradually, say, 3 grams at 3 and 3 grams at 9 position and 6 grams in the handle then keep adding till it feels right.

I hope you do not live in USA!
The Volkl people is clever and they have a heavier version Cat V1 and is call Catpult V10 V engine. It weight 315 gm.
I have played with the old and the 10th Anniversay V1. The cat V1 is too light and therefore the comprimose is this heavier stick. It play up to and better than the Cat V1 and V1 and is more for intermediate palyers. The tennis warehosue discusiion board had this racket review by others and by me.
You got to live in Australia, UK ,Germany, and Asia like Hong Kong to be able to get or demo this stick. BUT a mark difference in price. In term of HK$ (7.78 HK$ to 1 US$) it cost HK$980 but in Australia it cost HK$3000!

I have a pair of cat v1 mps that i added lead tape to the 10/2 that extend down to the 3/9 positions and the same amount in the handle. it wasn't my stick but i felt that it helped because it was too light in its stock form. i also added leather grips at the time and it made it somewhat more head light. when i get the chance i'll measure the stationary weight.
