Absolutely gorgeous... Unfortunately I just bought the black/grey/blue one 6w ago... Couldn't justify another pair realistically... :(

Oh these are nice, I WANT a black pair of tennis shoes, don't have one yet... do I need one... No so I'll be like you and just admire from afar lol

Found a pair for $100 and I’m intrigued since my Hypercourts are on their way out.

How are these for low arch and wide toes? I’ve also heard mixed reviews about break in and blistering. What are people’s thoughts? Thanks!

Hollerbirds? :X3:

I ordered a couple pair from another site but as pre-order. They won't be released until mid October.

I’d also be interested in break-in times. I really want to love mine, but every time I play in them they really start to rub and cause blisters after about an hour. These happen around the shoe collar, on my Achilles and just in front of my ankle bone. So far I’ve probably played about 5-6 hours total, should I persevere?

Persevere. They SHOULD start to break in. and then they feel really good. At least that's what happened in my case. I, too, wear the old school thick thorlo socks. I never had a problem with that achilles area but the shoe in general felt stiff and clunky my first 3 times out.

Thanks for that. I will do. I could use a clay shoe and didn’t want to get a 2nd pair and regret it. I’ll see how these go over the next few matches.

I second persevering, I wear thick thorlo socks as well and have no issues with blisters or the collar, it is quite stiff compared to lets say Asics Court FF2 but it does seem to just continue to get more and more comfortable.

I completely agree with this.

I have to say though, with the new model, the shoelace system is pretty poor as mine have snapped at the last eyelet (the elastic/cloth). I had to poke a hole through both of my shoes so the laces could go through on either side. It's hurting my inner ankle on my right leg unfortunately.

Darn it’s clay sole! I’m in hard court land and this is my next favorite color way after the black white red.
Hope there’s a hard court version. Are these men’s or women’s?

For reference, the last eyelet on the inner parts of the shoe with holes poked through them.

It's men's. I'm not sure if there'll be a hard court version since the colour is exclusive to this other online tennis shop.

I had that ankle blister giving issue with them, 3 weeks in and it didn't get better, I put on ankle braces and that was the end of it, superb shoe from then on.

Maybe it slides around becauseit’s too loose causing that? Did you size half a size down as is the consensus for this shoe?

Am I crazy or does anyone else find these to be some of the most comfortable shoes they've tried on right out of the box? I am perturbed by the lack of a top eyelet, excessively long shoe laces, and wider that kswiss forefoot, but otherwise, these shoes are pretty stellar. Going to double sock these tomorrow and see if improves the fit.

I do find them very comfortable out of the box and with the thick Thorlo max cushion tennis socks they fit like a dream. However, I do find the Asics Court FF 2 to be more comfortable out of the box! Just by a little bit.

They are comfortable out of box! I didn't observe a break in period at all even at the heel. Currently playing with the Parley versions because the adidas logo on the inside of the foot isn't as much of an eyesore. For shoelace length, I've replaced the shoelaces with some ovals (45.3 in/115 cm) and the length is just right. Haven't had issues with eyelets breaking after switching off of the thin shoelaces they come with.

Don't let the clay sole stop you. I found some clay sole colorways at my local Adidas outlet, took a chance, and have noticed no difference in performance. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the full herringbone rubber sole as opposed to the split sole on the hardcourt version.

Durability will probably be a big difference too. Hardcourt shoes made with more durable rubber on the outsole.

Some players like Murray (if I recall) actually play with clay outsole shoes on hard, but easier for him to replace his shoes when he needs to. Also might not be the same rubber they're using in the shoes for sale to public.

Random notes about these shoes:

1. love the shoes overall but wish they had heel lock lacing
2. the all-court sole works fine on har-tru (the herringbone is pretty deep)
3. The staniversary fits looser than the standard model. Haven't played in them yet but they don't have that locked in feel of the regular model
4. Had to go .5 size down
5. Wore them around house for a week or so before taking them on-court. No issues with rubbing once they have a little break-in

Anyone care to comment on the fit, feel, and breathability with the Parley version of the Barricade versus the standard? Non-parley versions seem not very breathable, as the uppers don't have ventilation, only on the tongue. Thanks

Have had these Barricades for a couple of months now. Really liked playing in them...until the shoelace eyelet broke loose at the top of the shoe. Fortunately, you can thread the laces through a tiny hole where the eyelet was. Still, I feared this would eventually happen (as others on this thread had mentioned). Net-net...a huge disappointment with the lace design....so unnecessary.

Call them for warranty. Worked for a friend

Been wearing Barricades my whole life. Last three years been wearing Gel Resolution 7/8 and SoleCourt Boosts. I found that these new Barricades were the most uncomfortable shoes I've put on out of the box.

They take an abnormally long time to break in. After about six hours, mine are just now feeling okay.

I happened to find them on sale for $70 a couple weeks ago.

Agree 100% Even when they finally break in they still have almost no forefoot cushioning! They have 3 big flaws:

- the lacing system
- the plastic coating over the majority of the upper
- the lack of any real forefoot cushioning

Agreed. These shoes suck. I need the old barricades back.

The new Barricades are superior to the old. I avoided trying them because of the wonky lacing system. I'm now stocking up as Adidas constantly redesigns shoes whether they require it or not.

The next model will likely be significantly different in design and fit.

I attempted to submit a warranty claim for the shoelace eyelet snapping...but it was denied because my claim was about 3 weeks after their 6 month warranty period. Not sure there's any outsole warranty with these Barricades...but you can call them and find out.

You think this applies to the 2021 version somehow?

Sigh ...

I always wondered why they messed with their successful past Barricade model(s). I wish they just release different colorways of their past solid Barricade instead of tinkering with part of the shoes such as the eyelet design and made it worse for many.

Agreed, top eyelets broke after 2-3 uses
