Does anyone know if Tennis Warehouse will get the checkered Barricade in more sizes? My size is missing
I’ll tell you these feel a lot better after 7-8 hours of break in. I made the mistake of wearing no show socks on my break in and I got a blister. But these are great shoes for me and I’m usually a Nike guy.I got my Barricades today, thoughts from just walking around and messing about in them:
- Initial feeling when putting them on was "yes, this is what I've been missing in terms of fit"... to me it feels like how a Barricade should/would fit (although not like the most recent boosts, but ones prior to that, maybe 2015/2016, and potentially the VIIs - they fit slightly larger, as if they'd been broken in, but the shape/sizing is more on point, no stupid plastic arch that killed me with the 2017/2018s and the SCB).
- Personally have absolutely no issues with the heel counter, although this is just limited to walking about the house; however it does become a factor eventually (read later).
- Upper... this is where my impressions fall apart a bit... this will need some (hopefully not a lot) of break in... the areas that it flexes aren't particularly comfortable (around the big toe, and just behind the little toe), although it's not sufficient to dissuade me (unlike the Nike Vapor React NXT which i literally couldn't walk around in without destroying my big toe)... a thicker pair of socks helps here.
- The Tongue is quite frankly the most atrocious thing they ever could have done with this shoe; not only is it paper thin with some padding, the fact they made it a "hybrid sock type" where it's stitched to the bottom means that I end up bunching it all up when I put my foot in, and the off angle cut of the laces means that straightening it out so there aren't creases is somewhat annoying; in fact I think something about the tongue is also contributing to the upper discomfort behind the little toe mentioned earlier.
I also tried putting in the insoles I currently use with my other shoes (Superfeet Orange and Superfeet Carbon).
- The Orange whilst are similar in thickness at the forefoot, are unfortunately a lot taller at the mid/heel; the latter means that the geofit heel counter is no longer in the right position and i don't feel like my heel is quite as locked in.
- The Carbons provide a much better heel fit and open up the forefoot a bit, however it's just not as "plush" as the default insole and it felt a little too structured which I don't feel in my other shoes.
- Ultimately after messing around with both the Oranges and Carbons, I went back to the default insole and it just felt much more comfortable; it obviously doesn't provide the support that the others do, but at the same time, I'm not one that particularly feels like they need the support.
Will feed back more when I get on court with them, but that may not happen until I wear out my Court FF2's.

2 week with the Barricade
Iniitial impression - Unique construction, Adidas wants to position the shoe against the Vapor Cage. I'm big fan of the VC, especially the cushioning...my go to if I'm feeling foot/leg fatigued. The upper is mesh with a plastic overlay..my guess for protection and to adhere to the midsole better.
Break-in - It took a good 3 days of wearing around the house to break in. I ordered same size as I wear in Ubersonic 4 and after break-in think I may have been good 1/2 size down. I use a VKTRY carbon insoles that fits perfect in U4, I still have room wearing them in Barricades. The laces offer a surprising amount of adjustment. The laces are hella long. I agree with an earlier comment that a thicker sock is preferable.
Match Play - I've only played two set of doubles in them and I liked the feel. I'm a creature of "pockets of habit." If it's a hot day and I know I plan to move and chase every drop shot I'm in U4...if it's a day when I know I will be making business decisions I would choose the Barricades. The increased cushioning in the Barricades could play dividends late in matches to keep foot fatigue at bay. While these don't feel as light or as quick as the U4, the transition isn't as big as going from the U4 to the SCB.
Design - wore them to malls when in Atlanta for MLB game (Go Nats!). Wifey noticed a few teenage kids starting me down. Had to tell her it was the shoes. Caught a "what is that ?" look....more surprised than thumbs down. I don't find the tongue problematic. I think the design allows for better fit adjustment and it's comfortable. A
Take Away - Decent flex, good support and stability, cushioning between the U4 and SCB. Will more than likely buy next pair 1/2 size down to see fit with thinner socks.
Tokyo - white/salmonWhich version attracted the teenage kids attention...white w/salmon or white/black checkerboard?
Perhaps, I am that "traditionalist" that "hates". Now, I do not hate the shoe but the producer of the shoe. Why? The reason is not that I am "anti-innovation" person but that I am someone with the foot that fits the old style with a suitable arch/toebox in front. I believe that the producers owe it to the ones with feet shapes agreeable to the old styled Barricades who have supported them for lengthy periods of time purchasing so many pairs of Barricades before. We, the ones with such feet, cannot change the shape of our feet. So, you may call me a "traditionalist" or "hater" who has been left behind by the company that I have invested in; or, you may ask me to change my "foot shape". Shouldn't we excpect a degree of responsibility from the company we spend our money on?Unlike anything Adidas has ever released, so traditionalists may hate it off the bat. But feel like you'd only hate these if 1. they don't suit your foot shape or 2. you're anti-innovation anti-change.
Did you try the Solecourt Boost?Perhaps, I am that "traditionalist" that "hates". Now, I do not hate the shoe but the producer of the shoe. Why? I have just purchased a pair of K-Swiss Hypercourt ones and am about to go for the Solecourt (the clay ones) too. What I am a bit concerned with the Solecourt shoes is that their toebox seems a bit exposed (although there's that special protruding bottom of the shoe/rubber below). I'll see when I get the Solecourt Boost and will let everyone know what my feelings areDid you try the Solecourt Boost?
No company sticks with one mold forever. They wouldn't be in business anymore if they weren't updating and evolving. Sometimes that means a shoe you once loved no longer suits you. Nike's not changed the foundation of its product like Adidas has now. The previous Barricades have had a fit for a different foot than the ones that have just come out. Not only that the company's altered the material, the fabric, which now makes the foot sweat more than before but also its structure on which some users like me can no longer stand or move on. Really, this isn't about "one mold", "updating" or "evolving" but throwing some of its customers that have made Adidas a business under the bus irresponsibly. Yes!!! They need to do the classic barricade colorway with black and white. And red highlight on the tongue and lace loopsGive us the black n white already…. Pffff
There is None in stock
If it wasn't for the adidas word spelt out on the side, its not a bad looking shoe.

Seems like the checker pattern was their stab at that being the first release.Yes!!! They need to do the classic barricade colorway with black and white. And red highlight on the tongue and lace loops
adidas.com appears to have them in stock.
I’m a huge solecourt fan and former Barricade user. Solecourt to me is better shoe overall, both are roomy in forefoot, heel design in the Cade cuts into Achilles more and gave me blisters. They also feel stiff and clunky in the sole but that may change have worn the Cades for 7 hours. The Sc boosts just feel to good on the feet.I'd like to know how the Barricades fair against SoleCourt (Boost). I am considering the SoleCourt Boost instead as they have the arch and basically remaining old Barricades touch

Got a singles match in and pretty satisfied with the feel overall. Only thing I find a bit bothersome is the design of the Achilles tab. I feel like it needs a slope to it. It feels oversized given the low cut off the shoe. My foot doesn't slip but seems to defeat the design of the cushion pods. Hope the royal blue/white colorway is slated for retail drop...would think this would be a US Open drop. My next pair will be 1/2 size smaller to see if that heel gap reduces without sacrificing toebox comfort, and hopefully no blisters. I appreciate the increased cushioning. I'm still getting allot of noise from them when I have VKTRY insoles in....could be the carbon fiber plate moving against the last..
Several factories that manufacture Nike and Adidas in Vietnam were shut down for COVID a few weeks back. Feels like colorways are being pushed back. I'm loving the shoes on the market now. They're bound to screw them up. I've got a stash under my desk out of "wife sight". She would never understand.
How come Zverev's shoes don't have the big adidas on the inside? i wonder if that part is easy to rip off.
LOL............ no you will damage the shoe if you try to rip it off. It is very handsome logo,, why would you want to rip it off ? I only wish somehow the logo was on the outside of the shoeHow come Zverev's shoes don't have the big adidas on the inside? i wonder if that part is easy to rip off.
Well, he's wearing Ubersonics, but they're most likely still the 2s that he's always been wearing. He’s wearing the Ubersonic 4’s, not the Barricades. Wish Adidas would have done the same thing on the inside of the Barricades. Either 3 stripes or no logo at all.
I think he's been on the actual 4s As they're more like the 2s than the 3s were. You can zoom in on pics of his shoes.Well, he's wearing Ubersonics, but they're most likely still the 2s that he's always been wearing.
I meant the black, white, red highlights like all the old barricades came in and the same classic color way was kept all year.Seems like the checker pattern was their stab at that being the first release.
