Adidas Barricade Boost vs. Nike Cage 3

If you're young and you have sturdy knees, you might go with the Gel Res because it's comfortable, stable, responsive, and feels light on your feet (although I didn't like the heel slippage). But if you ever had problems with sore knees (like I did with the Gel Res) then the Barricade Boost is a better option. The more secure lockdown on the Barricades is another good reason BTW.

I have weak ankles, so would the barricades be a better option?

I found the 2016 barricade boost t ofit really narrow which was disappointing as the B7 were my fave shoes ever. Not sure how the new ones compare, but all adidas seem to be narrow to me recently.

Barricades have better ankle support than the Asics Gel Res because the collar goes up a bit higher. If you really want better ankle support, get the D Rose 8. Don't let it bother you that it's a basketball shoe. I actually play a lot with the Crazylight Boost 2016 because it's so comfortable, but I'll wear Barricades if I want better responsiveness.

+1 for the Barricade Boost
I tried the resolutions before were too narrow for me, felt unstable when moving around the court.
Tried the previous version of the Cage not the latest one, just did not like the fit, felt a little high off the ground.
boost seemed a good fit for my feet felt nice and locked in and the come in hard court and clay versions.
found the outsole lasts longer

Between the Nike Cage 3 and Adidas Barricade Boost, could anybody give me their opinion on them or recommend any other tennis shoe?
Boost Barricades has been mentioned everywhere as one of the BEST ever made by any manufacturer. Nike cage 3 doesn't and can't measure up to that

Cage 3 is pretty narrow and requires a short break in. Worn the last few iterations of the barricade including 2015 boost and can say they are very stable, but a bit clunky. Cage 3 will be a bit quicker but both depends on how they fit. Dont be too discouraged by the cage's tight fit as they loosen up and I did have to change the insoles in the barricades because they hurt my arch. No problems with cage 3.

Wearing ASO ankle braces or similar would be the best option for weak ankles.

Best for injured ankles maybe, but for weak ankles I don't know. I guess it depends how weak you are. You can actually have too much support, which will slow you down at a minimum and might actually prevent your ankle from strengthening.

The whole "prevent your ankle from strengthening" might make sense if you wore the brace all the time, but if you only wear it for tennis then you are just wearing insurance. Once you've really torn up an ankle, and I mean complete tears of ligaments to the point you can feel the separated pieces, your ankle never fully recovers without surgery.
