Are the Adidas Barricade II shoes the best version of the Barricades available at Tennis-Warehouse?

I would love to get hold of a few pairs of the BII's, wish I had bought a load of extra pairs when i used to wear them!!!

No, the Barricade 6 is better; the fit is similar to the Barricade II but better cushioning and stability.

You have got to be joking.
They are completely different!!!!
The Barricade 2 has a lot more with the 4 and 5, while version 6 feels like a whole new design.
Adidas has screwed up AGAIN.

If you like the Barricade 2, buy a few pairs and send a clear message to Adidas. I'm sick of manufacturers disposing of perfectly good shoes to replace them with a ridiculous new model.

They even have the II on Adidas' online shop, which might speak to the popularity of the shoe. I switched over to the Barricade during the III series, and that shoe was crap, so I never wore the II's. Skipped the IV's but came back to the V's and liked them a lot. My 6's should be coming in today. We'll see how it goes.

I've been using the B2 for a while now. I want to try on the B6 but there's something about the glove-like fit of the B2 that really builds confidence when you're moving around. The bad part for me about the B2 is that the arch goes completely flat in about 2 weeks and I have to resort to arch supports but I'm so used to them now.

With that said, I don't trust the current 'build' of the B2s as I've heard of the eyelets popping out if you tighten the laces too much. I had a friend break them in the B2 mids and IIRC some had that issue with the current white/black B2s. I never had that issue but it always was in the back of my head and I took great care to not put too much pressure on the eyelets.

Yeah, I've heard and read the same stories about the B-II. It has been several years since I last had a pair but I never had a problem. But by many accounts the quality on the new B-II's are not up to the old standards.

I never got a chance to try a Barricade II

The Barricade IV was fantastic. When I first put them on they fit my foot like a glove.

The V's and VI's dont seem to fit as well.

Loved the II's, disliked the III's. Haven't tried anything newer...I'm using Feather II's right now for the clay.
Just ordered some
AIR MAX COURTBALLISTEC 2.3 CLAY as well, so it might be a while until I try new barricades.
The nike's were cheaper than the Barricade 5's where I ordered them from...so ...I figured I should go with something different this time. I've only used Adidas tennis shoes until now...tried them, liked them ...didn't see any reason to change.
We will see how it goes with these 2.3's, if I don't like them ... back to the feathers I go ... :)

I've tried the IIs and the Vs back to back, and I have to say I like the Vs more. I had some minor problems with slipping with the IIs, but didn't have any with the Vs. Also, the Vs have the 6-month outsole guarantee, which is a very important factor for me.

So do the IIs?

The IIs were the best for me, perfect glove-like fit for my picky feet.

I find the fit of the IIs compared to any other Barricade to be "stubby". The toe cap feels more rounded which doesn't suit my toes. Another difference is that the IIs arch felt like it was further back towards the heel compared to the IVs,Vs or 6s.

definitely 2 is the best; btw i heard you can vote for your favourite barricade and tell your barricade story and one person is picked at random and can win a day training with Murray, think theres a link on TW

How long have you worn the 6's?

Going on 6 weeks. I have come to the conclusion that they are not going to break in-still blisters, really tight toebox (heel is ok), very hot-3/4 of the ventilation holes are not true ventilation holes. I may order a pair of V's from Canada for $150.

I have to agree with hcb, sorry. In terms of fit, the 6.0 is much closer to the II than anything since. The IV and V (which are similar to each other) are MUCH flatter in the arch and much wider in the forefoot, while the 6.0 is made on a contoured last, just as the II was. For those with high arches, the 6.0 is a godsend, as they had been lowering their arches progressively for year till the 6.0.

You may be in luck, actually. The 6.0 isn't quite as glove-like and contoured as the II, but it's definitely the most glove-like contoured fit since the II. They used the same last as the II to make it, due to the enduring popularity of the II. Further, the arch support in the 6.0 seems to last quite well, and doesn't crush as much or as quickly as the II. So while it's not for everyone, the 6.0 has been very successful among those for whom it is the right shape. And the 6.0 is definitely more durable and bullet-proof than the II, although the ride is slightly higher.

Funny you quoted my post, because I actually picked up a pair of the blue/yellow b6s recently for $70 (rip bcb). I've worn them for about a week now and I believe that the b6 is a cross b/w the b2 and b5. It's got a similar glove-like b2 fit with the b5 stability. The arch to me is closer to the b5 but I'm getting used to it. I haven't noticed if the ride is higher than the b2 but I'm not a good judge since I put in arch supports in my b2s. So far I'm impressed with the b6 and hope to put in a lot more court time as soon as I wear out these gel resolution 2s (got 3 more months left on the 6 month warranty).
