So I was in Mexico this past weekend, and talking with some locals in a shed at a party, I saw the GTX hanging on the wall. I asked "Quanto?" and they told me to take it for free. It needs to be strung and regripped, but pretty much free of cracks. I have always wanted to hit with this stick, what can I look forward to? Has anyone hit with one of these yet?

You will like it. I used it back in the early 1980's. it really had it going on ; just a little bigger than my normal Jack Kramer Auto. I think 7% bigger. If you play all the time and everyday seriously its very nice. its not or ever was a racket for casual use. enjoy!

Fun racquet, love the egg shape head and it had good power. Took it tennis class once and they were all amazed about the head size...the coach was impressed.

great subject. I was just about to post the same question. Always been interested in these since the lendl days.

Interesting.
... So "Quanto" actually means "If you don't give me that racquet, I'll shoot you between the eyes."

Who knew?

hhehhe:) .. good one . this racket is nice.. a gem . i have one and also the predecessor , kneissl white pro same racket basically .. they play very nice still :)

Like to buy if you sell GTX pro

Hi there,
I play with the GTX-Pro model.
I have a Kneissl Pro masters and two Adidas GTX-Pro,
same racquet, different paint.
Unfortunately two racquets were already in a bad shape when i bought them.
I think neither of them will last long.
So i'm searching for at least 2 more good models (kneissl, Adidas or Mizuno),
at a reasonable price (<50€), so when a string breaks, i still can play,
and have a reserve one, should a second string break as well
(already happened several times).
I only play with the small headed models, so no midsize please.
A Mizuno model is unlikely to be found because Mizuno only made
the small headed ones specially for Lendl and only sold the midsize ones (played by Lendl on grass) for the public.
I really like playing with them, because they give me much more controle
than my Wilson hyper hammer, and i'm in love with it's shape and model.
(Freek that i am,I wonder if no manufacturer would make some replica with
the modern technology and materials lol)
So if anyone knows where i could find such racquet, other than on ****,
please let me know.
They don't have to be in perfect condition, just no bursts or cracks in them.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Joeri Thys (Belgium)

Hi,
I've got a GTX Pro which I bought new in 1986, it's been sitting in the loft for about 18 years! It's in fair/good condition, scratches and scraps around the top of the frame but no cracks. If you're interested make me an offer.
Cheers, Rob.

Hi Rob,

Where do you live, and how much
will it cost to send it to belgium?
I'd like to see the Racquet,
could you send some pictures to
flyzy@hotmail.com please?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

Joeri (Belgium)

Rob can you give us your email?

i have more of these than I'd care to admit,,,anyone who would part with one (an adidas gtx pto, pro-t or lendl pro kneissl) plays a sissy modern game and doesn't know what real tennis is all about!!!

I agree with that statement. I would never part with this racquet if I had one.

Let me ask this as for GTX Pro frames.

Most classic player's frames have one strong point -a la "highlight". For ex: PS85 is known to be a great serving racquet. Max 200G is known with its great slice and volley abilities.

What is one great highlight of the Lendl GTX frames? What is it known to be doing great, or people feel must comfortable doing so with it?

i just like the racquet paintjob with ivan lendl name on it :)

if you play from the baseline, it's not too tough to play with the gtx pro but if you move up to the net, you have to be totally focused because the headsize of this racquet is only slightly larger than those of the wood racquets.

people say the k90 is demanding to use and the gtx pro is more demanding than the k90 in today's world due to the small headsize.

Man, I love this frame! It has so much control... If I am only ralying with someone without playing points, I can keep hitting without making a mistake at all.
