Adidas racket- Djokovic!

Word is from adidas that they will be producing top of the range tennis rackets from 09+. i dont know when they will be made for sale of when they will make official statement etc. the adidas reps we deal with in our shop have told us this and to keep it quiet, but i thought i must share! aslo, they are saying that Djokovic will or has signed a deal with them! as soon as i hear anything else i will post.

thats whats should happen. as for the rackets they will sell, they may buy some moulds from other companys. but, adidas have enough money behind them to do what they like

Yeah- but I'll believe it when I see it. Butif Nike can make golf equipment (which is top of the line A1 quaility) Adidas can certainly do it too!

AmeliasDad, probably isn´t difficult do adidas make that, but adidas doesn´t make golf irons, drivers, etc. is Taylor Made. Adidas has only make a joint-venture with them.
So, in this case probably adidas will make a join-venture or buy some company that produce tennis racquets, and than they put the adidas logo, and you pay more $50-$100 than a unbrand racquet, and the some mold and materials.

In racquets world, is very dificult to see the difference between two identical specs racquets, because in every shot we made, we don´t make the some movement, the ball doesn´t pop in the same string intersection, the speed of the ball, etc.

The brands take advantage of this point, and sometimes the buy the product in one company, next they resseller the same material but with their brand.

Its commercial.

GTX-Pro? Graphite - fiberglass frame? 14+oz.? Gimme. If wilson can use input from Sampras for a new frame, Adidas should brush off Lendl and bring him in the lab.

The three striped brand is going to have to differentiate itself from the two striped brand (Babolat) on the stringbeds of these racquets, they can't just ink three stripes across the stringbed can they? Perhaps three vertical stripes is the way to go. Perhaps not.

They wouldn't use the trefoil, that's only really used on the Originals fashion line.

Will the racquet come with a 6-month warranty?

In the 70's and 80's Adidas had a whole line of great Tennis racquets. In the 70's the top pro that used Adidas racquets was Ilie Nastase. In the 80's the top Professional that used Adidas racquets was Ivan Lendl.

The next thing you know, we're gonna have Puma rackets.

(For those that didn't know - Adidas and Puma founders were brothers and had a huge rivalry.)

If a buck can be made, they'll sell it.

Adidas frames were actually very popular with pros in the 70s. Adidas had quite a few pros in their stable.

I hated they got out of the racket business. I still have the Adidas Haillet that I bought in '76 or '77.

Adolph and Rudolf Dassler respectively.;-) Puma also had racquets in the 80's. Boris Becker used Puma racquets to win a few Wimbledon's.

Here is chris_in_japan's collection
Adolf actually

Their home town of Herzogenaurach (and where adidas and Puma are still based) is divided much like Verona had Montagues and Capulets in Rome and Juliet, only there it is based on which shoes you wear.

Puma is completely out of the tennis business these days. The only Tennis shoes they have now are lifestyle shoes like the re-issues of the old Vilas Special now called the GV Special.

I wasn't talking about tennis, I was referring to the fact that a guy wearing Sambas couldn't go out with a girl wearing Speed Cats.
