Adidas Tirand 2

Azzurri

Legend
Bought these shoes last week for $55. They look like the Barricade IV. I just got back into tennis. I figure to go cheap on my first pair of shoes. These shoes worked really well for me. Has anyone else tried these shoes? Can anyone else compare them to the Barricade's or the Nike Air Zoom Vapor Speed. I am wondering if there is a difference between $50 shoes and $100 shoes. Your thoughts?

i have a pair of the tirandes, and i love them. i only use them for doubles.
i like my b II's better for singles play.

why? I have heard of different racquets being used, but not shoes.
what is the difference between the shoes?

I tried on a pair of Tirand II this weekend. IMO there was not as much arch support as the BII - which remains my shoe of choice for the time being.

b II's are a snug fit. the toe box is a little narrow, so more suitable for mid to narrow feet. comfortable and nice low to the ground feeling thou.

so the B II is more narrrow? the problem is the area I live in has no retailers that sell tennis shoes. it is very difficult to make a decision.

i thought the Tirand was a tight fit. I guess the B II is out.

I've found that lately, the newer additions of Adidas' tennis sneakers (the line in general) has been getting more narrow. Has anyone else noticed that?

the bIII's have a wider toe box, and are more roomy. don't have experience w/ the bIV's. other adidas shoes tend to lean more on the narrow side.

slappano, my reason is because i don't move as much laterally in doubles.
the tirandes feel great if i'm moving forward. but i can't cut and turn as well
in them as i can in the b II's.

narrow Barricades

I can speak for the BII and the BIV, which I tried on at G O L F S M I T H (BIII wasn't avlbl there). The BII was narrow and the BiV was terribly narrow, for my kind of feet (moderately wide, just short of 2E with medium-to-high arch). Maybe Adidas is indeed making progressively narrow shoes from one generation to the next...

The Tirands are great shoes esp. for their price. Minimal break in required. Thinking of getting another pair.

Thanks for all the friendly advice.
I have now worn the Tirand II for 3 matches. They took some time, but are now very comfortable. I actually had shoe trees in them.

I guess I am not at that level to switch shoes. They feel fine to me right now. I will to eventually get another pair of shoes to tell the difference (just got back into sport after 6 lear hiatus).
