Adidas Ubersonic 5

Doesn’t seem like a great shoe to be honest according to his review. It seems like an orthotic isn’t even saving the shoe. Not enough cushioning…

Not everyone is sensitive to that. Since I only play on nice plexipave, and not on hard concrete, cushioning just hasn't been an issue for me so far, with any shoe

Also, they probably make and sell more of the clay version, those definitely don't have issues with cushioning as clay is just soft for the bones. That's often forgotten in these reviews

These I'll definitely try, now that they finally have a normal shank. I hope they have a forefoot shape and feel of U1, although U1 and U4 gave me a foot injury and went to the bin almost new, soft squishy bendy trash shoes

Ugly as f*ck... Ubersonic always was a very soft, comfortable and very light shoe, what the F is this???

I know right. The Ubersonic 3 (the last one I wore) was pretty plush and comfy for being a minimalist shoe. There's a reason I haven't worn anything Adidas since the Solecourt Boost, it's not like their shoes have had decent durability in years.

I'm excited for them... if nothing more, hopefully the 4.1 will go on sale.

Anyone tried them yet?

It’s what actual pro stocks play like. Which will make it unplayable for the majority of us.

It’s firm with low cushioning and high court feel with an incredibly sound shank.

All playability and no comfort. Which are what the pros want but many rec players will find wildly uncomfortable

They look so low to the ground and low profile. If not for the midfoot shank they kind of remind me of the bottom section of a wrestling shoe or futsal shoe. The forefoot court feel in these must be amazing.

I feel like this is something that every company does for some reason now so not strictly an Adidas problem, but for me the placement of the three stripes is a little bit off / weird / oversized that takes away from the look of the shoe a bit, but that’s a nitpick.

OR Adidas really want him to wear their shoes and create a hole new molded shape to his foot in the uber casing...
He's a top 10 player so they might be able to give him that
i think they gave his shoe more cushioning as well, like Rafa shoes from nike, his ubersonic must have better stability in the heel and better cushioning as well.. Why can't they sell that version to the public ?

That was my first thought as well. Ubersonics have all been like home slippers, soft spongy and mushy, this is the first one with a proper stiff shank, so adidas must've had some reason for that change

They already had Cybersonic with rods/plate/shank, so I doubt they would make another shoe of exactly the same type for no reason

Maybe the reason behind that move is to show more that model considering Zverev is using something else

So far so good. No issues going toe to toe with 4.0 senior ladies.

Two hitting lessons at lunchtime, then training a bunch of my college players home on break, supervising ankle biters for an hour and then two privates.

I just realized Friday is supposed to be my day off...

Shoes survived the day, strings did not.

I didn't notice that I was wearing new or different shoes and I think that's the best compliment I can give them.

To me these are an update to the Uber 2.

Uber 1 fit weird, 3 was wide and flat but we'll made and lasted a while. 4 was flimsy and wore out immediately until they made them better and then the 4.1 was trash.

I didn't tie them so I don't know how much of the heel slippage will remain but I hardly noticed it and felt quite secure.

Taught 9:30am-8:30pm including gym workout at lunchtime and drilling with college players.

Zero foot pain or anything from lack of cushioning.

Connected to the ground, adidas clay tread is the best. Excellent lateral stability, little bit of toe jamming which probably can be cured by tying them.

Early review dubs this the best Uber ever for people with long narrow feet like me.

i heard it has horrible thin cushioning because they used even thinner lightstrike cushioning this time. is this true ?

I've worn mine on hard courts for a match, and liked how fast they were. Didn't need much break in. Nice lateral stability. Didn't notice lack of cushioning on them once I started playing in them. I was using the cybersonic before and really liked it but it went soft a bit fast and the sole didn't last long. I have relatively narrow feet as well and found they were great for my feet. Only gripe is I was getting slightly sore in the inner knee but it went away. Not much heel slippage, or any really. Nice shoe, I'll see how the knee thing progresses but hopefully can keep wearing them as I was moving good

They already have a clay outsole? Where did you get it?

Been wearing the Lacoste shoe for the last year and a half. Just got a pair of the white ones here to try. They feel great walking around the house haha. Looking forward to an on court test Sunday. The UBER2 was one of my favorite lines of shoes I've worn so hoping for the best hre.

so 2 hours on foot and the shoe is light and fast. it does NOT feel good on hard court. My feet felt like I'd been playing on the bare ground when I got done. Maybe some new insoles would help here but I don't see this being a really viable shoe for heavy hard court use. Would not want to be on my feet teaching all day in these either. This was a bummer as I was really excited about this shoe. Will give it another shot just to be sure though

So the AG-LT23 are better shoes? I am also wearing the Lacoste but is eager to try all the new models like the Uber 5
