is this an update of the Ubersonic 5 ? Whats new ? Had them here, but was to small to me in normal size- realy nice looking shoe to me, good stability.
Played now some two months indoor hard court with uber 5. Previous shoes used are uber 4 and 4.1. My feet in pretty narrow with high arch and at a time when running half marathons used to pick always adizero -series shoes. No hazzle with them, always a great fit.
Uber 5 is so different to 4 that asking why keep the same name. It fix the minor things that uber 4 has: too soft sole does not stay long in hard indoor courts but fades away too early. Uber 5 is harder material and therefore lifetime will be longer. Also uber 4 heel area is soft and slippery, meaning that lock lacing is needed. My heel and achilles was a bit moving in uber 4, but in uber 5 they stay in place. Uber 4 fabric will tear from big toe, when my jump in serve is not so good. Uber 5 has more material in there.
Only hesitation was about hard sole and insole in ball area and do I get blisters. With improper socks yes, meaning that throw half of my sock storage to bin, but with good socks, uber 5 is great shoe. The heel area looks ugly, but it fits my feet perfectly and locks achilles in place. It might need one hour break-in time, depending your preference, but I went into tough session with trainer just shoes out of box.
Uber 5 is really stabile shoe and it feels faster than 4.
Bought a second uber 5 pair and two pairs of uber 4 are now for walking with dog. Waiting to get clay model.
How did these hold up over the long term? Better than the 4.0 I am guessing?Shoes survived the day, strings did not.
I didn't notice that I was wearing new or different shoes and I think that's the best compliment I can give them.
To me these are an update to the Uber 2.
Uber 1 fit weird, 3 was wide and flat but we'll made and lasted a while. 4 was flimsy and wore out immediately until they made them better and then the 4.1 was trash.
I didn't tie them so I don't know how much of the heel slippage will remain but I hardly noticed it and felt quite secure.
Taught 9:30am-8:30pm including gym workout at lunchtime and drilling with college players.
Zero foot pain or anything from lack of cushioning.
Connected to the ground, adidas clay tread is the best. Excellent lateral stability, little bit of toe jamming which probably can be cured by tying them.
Early review dubs this the best Uber ever for people with long narrow feet like me.

They held up longer than the 4.0.How did these hold up over the long term? Better than the 4.0 I am guessing?
Did you have to change size from 4.0 to the 5, or was the fit close enough to the same?
Thanks.
Yea, fit ok, no cushioning, good tread. I alternate them with Barricades and Vapor 12s.I have as well just haven’t heard much about them on here. Do the clay ones have good grip?
This is what adidas adizero ubersonic 4 did to me extra bone growth due to pain. I used even when it was paining ok and realised it resulted in extra bone growth at marked side you can easy see it. I brought online when it was 50% off and taught me a nice lesson even a company known all over the world.
I brought again another adidas offer one adidas men’s defiant speed 2 and they also still having pain at the spot mentioned.
Can any one suggest some good comfortable shoe which does not give pain to leg while playing.
Right after uber 5where is uber 6 ?
which uber is the coming out in apriol?Right after uber 5
An aperol colored uber? Sounds tastywhich uber is the coming out in apriol?
ubersonic 7 coming in april, then 6 to come after thatwhich uber is the coming out in apriol?
Great shoe but really poor durability... You need to be sponsored by Adidas and change them every week. Like Jodar!
Looks like the Uber 5s are going away next year to be replaced by an updated Feather (no idea what they will take from the Ubers, but they are described as a new speed focused top of the line shoe) so, if you can wait for the AO that will probably be the next Adidas update.I got some of these today. Current shoe solution speed ff3. Previously wore ubersonic 2 which was my favourite shoe. The 5s seem to have very little cushioning, better ground feel than ff3 (which is what I was looking for) but not sure at what cost...
Any other options out there in between these two shoes I've mentioned? I'm getting old and need a slightly more forgiving ride... I like the speed ff3s but want something slightly more stable
Also played a very physical match yesterday and everything hurts, only walked around the house in the 5s so maybe in a few days I'll change my mind.
I'm playing on indoors plexipave courts, which have in built hard rubber cushioning and bounce regulating layeris the lack of cushioning an issue when you're actually playing? just walking around the house the soles feel rock hard. but im not sure how that translates to on court. i'm a small and light player not typically crashing around the court but i'm also not in my 20s anymore.

It's trading comfort for durability. also too stiff for me during the breakin period. I didn't need any breakin for the last versionI am 53 and they cushion fine once you break them in a little. I too was a little concerned when I first got them but after a month I find them pretty comfortable. My 15yr old son hated his though as too stiff so player weight might be a factor.

I haven't had any cushioning problems with mine!is the lack of cushioning an issue when you're actually playing? just walking around the house the soles feel rock hard. but im not sure how that translates to on court. i'm a small and light player not typically crashing around the court but i'm also not in my 20s anymore.
My last experiment for 5 is to order half size up and use thicker cushion insoles. If that still doesn't work, I will have to completely ditch ubersonic as well. Too bad. I've gone through at least 10 pairs of them.I kept trying to make my 5s work and I just couldn’t do it. During play they would wear my legs out a bit quicker but the real killer was the knee pain. I chop it up to just not being right for me. AGLT23 are a good speed shoe but die too fast. My personal favorite is diadora bicon3 plenty fast, way more cushion.
What size did you wear with the 4’s?My last experiment for 5 is to order half size up and use thicker cushion insoles. If that still doesn't work, I will have to completely ditch ubersonic as well. Too bad. I've gone through at least 10 pairs of them.
Can you give a report on the uber ‘s durability compared to the ff3, looking to replace my ff3s getting worn outI got some of these today. Current shoe solution speed ff3.
