I don't think it's surprising that individual sports have largely remained niche sports while team sports have become much more hugely popular, given people's need for affiliation and their desire to ward off isolation. Team sports evoke that kind of closeness and loyalty, whereas in individual sports like tennis we've all seen the crowd root more for the match ("crowd hoping for another set") than an individual. Even the individual sports that make up the Olympics are largely ignored by most people for four years and only become compelling when the athletes become part of a team for the Olympic games. Individual sports that have managed to remain widely popular would be boxing and perhaps MMA, but only because these meet another primal human want --- bloodlust.

It’s the same for most sports. Outside of the fans for a particular sport most other people won’t care or be aware of what’s happening. It’s very normal behaviour and we know tennis isn’t as popular as football for example.

I have one app, in that other sport's viewership stays near to 5M-6M.
Fed's match in RG/WIM had 500K-800K max viewership.
and RG/WIM final had 5K to 10K max.
