Admit it

I think you could make a good argument that Federer and Nadal have better forehands than Agassi did. Novak is close on both wings. All 3 have much better athleticism as you said.

Not as much power as agassi, not hitting on the rise.
For sure fedal have better forehands, but not from the pure tennis perspective, its because their athleticism is better they can hit better shot from difficult postions and turn defence into attack better than anyone.

That's a fair take. Agassi's groundstrokes were ridiculous and I would love to see what he could do in this era if he was focused and dedicated.

I heard a take from a while back saying that Agassi’s pure ball striking would be a little less of an outlier in the slower court and poly era.

Not that he wouldn’t still be an ATG player, but that he was such a unique ball striker on fast courts bc no one could take the ball earlier than him, and it was comparatively a lot more difficult to play baseline effectively in that era.

I always thought Agassi would be 100% better in this era, and he likely would, but his key advantages over the field might not be as pronounced. Then again, not having to play PETE is probably the biggest advantage of playing in the modern era.
